I remember B telling me that the Navy's answer to everything was Ibuprofen!  Didn't matter what was ailing you that was their cure all.....Fortunately we all know this isn't the case and more treatment is needed for your daughter!

Here's a funny (not intended to disrespect anyone)......just a funny to lighten the situation.

She definitely needs to speak up.  My daughter tore a muscle/tendon  in her foot which hurt for a few months before she finally went to the ER on her own., after requesting several times to see a doctor.  Then after not being allowed to follow the recommendations by ER staff had to finally go up the chain some.  She finally started some PT and other steps but is on some type of light duty now for 6 months while the treatment process continues.  I of course think it would not have been so bad if she and they would have followed the initial recommendations made by the ER doctors to start or at least had been given permission to go to a doctor sooner but we will see how it goes.  I agree, she does need to speak up.

He's back in the office now - he did have PT.  And although he was off of it for 8 weeks it was still quite some time after that before it was completely healed.  But it does seem like an excessive amount of time for your daughter.  Someone needs to give her better answers.

Katski - I'm sorry you and your daughter aren't getting any answers about her hip - I'm sure it's very frustrating. (And since she is an adult unfortunately they won't tell you anything.) A couple of years ago my boss (who is an avid bicycle rider) crashed his bike.  After 2 days of pain he finally went to the ER and discovered he had a fractured hip.  It did not require surgery but it had to be non-weight bearing for 8 weeks.  He used a walker to get around (and he wasn't happy about it!).  I don't remember if he had PT (and he isn't in the office right now for me to ask him) but he did finally recover and is back riding his bike.  So I know these things do take time - your daughter will need to speak up and advocate for herself.  Can she get her CO involved?  Is she in pain?  Again, I'm sorry she seems to not be getting answers but it's definitely time for her to go higher on the chain of command.

Hi Anna - we are just hanging out in Western NC & North Georgia. Visiting with family & church friends till we head out west. I just love the Great Smokey Mountains in the Spring and Summer.

anyone able to tell me the process.... my daughter has been dealing with a fractured hip for over 5 months now - MRI done and still not healed...they are placing her on limited light duty for board review  - told her 6 months limited  - there has been no PT done to help heal either - will this be done then during these next 6 months? - - I really need help to understand

Hi Anna! So good to hear you : )   Yes it's hot but it's actually kinda hard to complain since we've had such a temperate spring. Even had a terrific hail storm at the end of April - mother nature is def in menopause!

Keep us posted on your travels. We all love seeing you in our inbox!

JayDee,

So sorry about your great niece!!!  I hope she was able to help others learn so they are able to help others.  My prayers go out to her family, they sound like very strong people!!!

Oleander,

You have been in my thoughts with the reports of all the heat out west.  Sailor Son and his family are in Fallon!!  Hope you all don't cook out there!!! I wish I could catch a Fleet Week sometime in all our travels.  Haven't been in the right place at the right time yet!!!!

bbcregular,

So glad to hear your daughter is doing well!!  It sounds like she is recovering and  being strong!!!  Where are you spending your summer??
