Thanks Mom of Deanna!

My daughter is on the George H W Bush.  Where will your daughter be?  What does she do?

Congratulations JayDee659! That’s exciting news for sure. What a cute couple they are!
My daughter is graduating from A school this Friday and got her orders. One of the moms on here said she thinks she might be on the same ship as your daughter?

Anna, of course you should include your son's pic, what a great achievement!  BZ to him (and you for raising him)!

We had some excitement this weekend. Our oldest daughter got engaged.  My husband and I just love him, and we're very pleased.  I've been told that his parents want to throw an engagement party to which we're invited.  When I mentioned this to my sailor she said "oh I can make that".  His folks only live about 3 1/2 hours from where my sailor is stationed.

Here's the happy couple:

Potterycat,

You are welcome!!!  Stay with us!!!

Molly's Proud Mom,

How exciting for your daughter.  And isn't it wonderful to have them get recognized!!! Where in Florida is she? My daughter is in Pensacola!!

JayDee,

I will never regret my surgeries since it means I no longer have the excruciating pain I was dealing with.  Now I still have some aches sometimes, especially if my knees are cold.  They don't like cold!!! And I probably will never have as much flexibility in my left knee but then I have to be honest - before replacement I couldn't tell you how much I could bend the left knee!!!  I never had any reason to measure it!!! Just a little while ago hubby and I played 18 holes of disc golf and that's going up and down hills, over rocks, tree roots, and through the forest!!!  Couldn't do that before so I am happy!!!!!

I know this is the Daughter's group, but I never got to post this picture of my son making Chief!! Since the Officer Daughter is in there it's ok right????

Molly's Proud Mom sounds like your girl is doing a great job! Glad to see our girls excelling.

potterycat, since your girl is a Nuke (like mine) you can expect her to be in school for approx 2 years before she hits the fleet.  My daughter graduated prototype 18 months after entering the pipeline.  Those 2 years are almost like the college kid experience.  They call all the time (except when they are studying as no phones are allowed in the Rickover) text all the time, need stuff etc.  Over that time period you grow more accustomed to their being gone but knowing you can reach out.  When they hit the fleet it's an easier transition.  My daughter flew out to meet her ship, which was on deployment, and I thought it would be forever before I heard from her but nope.  She called from every port and called weekly from the ship.  I still miss her daily but I know she's there, and that I'll hear from her as soon as she has a minute.

Anna, you're on my mind lately.  It's once again time for me to start a new round of gel shots into my knee.  Wondering how the x-rays will look as I'm feeling a new "crunch" when I make some movements.  You're still happy with your surgery (other than wanting it to have been bionic)?
