JayDee we will be in Vegas 23 March - 6 April. Just two weeks. Not sure when you guys have planned your rendezvous. Let me know. I think I am leaving too early for a meet up.

Anna, my love and prayers follow you to FL, please give your daughter a huge hug from this navy mom and let her know how much we support and respect her. Both attacks were terrible reminders that our brave men and women in the military literally put their lives on the line for our safety every.single.day. no matter where they are. Sending you all so much love - prayers for recovery for everyone affected by this tragedy and for lives to be turned right side up again.

We got to spend Thanksgiving with our girl! that was the 1st holiday celebrated on the actual day in the 5 years since she enlisted - it was a very special treat. Unfortunately we won't have Christmas together but our oldest daughter & family will be here from the east coast. We're SO looking forward to having our grandson with us - he turned 1 yr old in Oct and is a handful. My daughter said yesterday he uprooted a couple of her house plants and ate dog food! I can't wait to get my hands on that little character!

Happy Holidays to everyone. I hope you all get to see or speak to your loved ones.

Even though my daughter is in Virginia, I text her the morning of the shooting and said "I love you".  She instantly responded with "I love you too".  It seems that she's learned that a quick response will head off a long conversation.  Finally have her trained.

Anna I saw the video, very moving.  Have you made it to Florida yet?  Give that girl a big hug from all of us.

My SIL's sub deployed yesterday.  It's a bummer that this is right before Christmas, I'll never understand the Navy's timing.  My daughter says she won't be able to make it home but I'm sure her friends and dog will keep her going through the holiday.

It's so nice to see everyone popping in.  We've been kind of quiet lately.

bbcregular, when will you be in Vegas?  Will it be when Anna is there?  You see where I'm going here?

Anna, so sad what has happened. Daughter’s command is Pearl and they are having active shooter drills. I immediately received a text from her to say she and her friends were safe. She knows I can get a wee bit anxious when it concerns her.

We are finally traveling again. Will be in SanAntonio Christmas & New Year. Daughter flying in to be with us then travel to Arizona with us. She will fly out of Phoenix. She will also come back in March to spend 3 weeks. We will be in S Cal then going to Las Vegas. So funny when she makes travel plans. She asks “Where will you guys be?, I am taking leave and want to know where I want to join you at.” She chooses her leave time according to our location so it can be a true vacation. We are enjoying living and traveling in our compact home.

Hope everyone gets to see or talk to their sailor sometime during this holiday season. Prayers for all.

@Molly's proud mom fancy running in to you here. Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Too bad my daughter left Georgia and is now in Guam or we could've met up in Jax! Happy holidays

Oh Anna...I'm so sorry! What a nightmare for your girl to live through. Those sailors have been in my thoughts and prayers ever since I woke up to Molly's text: IT'S NOT ME!! I'M IN JACKSONVILLE!!! But that and Pearl Harbor are bringing people down. Poor sweet girl. So glad you'll be able to be with her soon.

Molly got leave over Thanksgiving, which was wonderful. This was our first holiday since my mom died in May so it was a tough one. It was so good to have her there. We are going to J'Ville on the 22nd and all of my kids and hubby and I will be together. I'm over the moon. Molly won't have to take leave...she gets 1/2 day 24th, 25, 26 off. :))))) So excited to spend time there and see where she is for the next year and a half or so.

Oh Anna! Bless her heart and yours! That is so terrifying and I’m so glad she’s ok! Please give her an extra hug from a woman she doesn’t even know. I hope you and your family enjoy the holidays together. So grateful for all of our sailors and their never ending bravery.
