All very exciting! My son has completed his Navy journey; he worked on jets on the flight deck.

I do have a non-Navy swimmer, in fact, she is at her lifeguard job right now. :)

Thank you, @valtameri ! We are a Connecticut family. My son is waiting to leave for BC. He is my first in the military. He just turned 18. I'm very proud of him and very excited, and also I am a little nervous. I am retired LE and now a teacher. He has requested a PST and job change from Aircrew to AIRR, which is a huge decision. If he passes the PST and gets approved to change to AIRR, he will get his ship date. He is hoping to leave sooner than later since all of his friends have already moved into their freshman dorms at colleges.

I joined this group for support, but more for input and knowledge from others' experiences as he moves through his recruit and A school journey. The only thing we know about stationing is that he will not be anywhere close to us, perhaps San Diego.

I look forward to learning to be a great Navy mom and support others as they enter their journey.

Cath, I just sent two new sub moms your way. They may send you private messages.

That’s great!

Sounds great -- I think I saw her on the A School group, but I know she has joined sub moms and Groton as well.

My son is a veteran -- used the GI bill for school and is employed at the VA (full circle).

Well - if she wants to reach out to me I can guide her to help. My son is approaching 7 years now! He has at least 1 more to go - who knows from there. Where is your son?
Comment by Valtameri on July 15, 2020 at 9:32pm

I think her son hasn't gone to RTC yet. Must be a planner!

Comment by Cath Bubblehead mom on July 15, 2020 at 8:27pm
I lived in CT for most my life. My sailor is a submariner, but after training in Groton has been at different bases. There are many submarine groups both here and on Facebook. Is this persons sailor still training?
