I haven't been on this site much lately, but all is well with my sailor and our family.  We decided to take a road trip to visit him in VA over the weekend of the 4th.  Hit the road early on July 3 and got to our hotel in time for dinner with him.  He was able to stay in our hotel with us over the weekend so we had lots of quality time on Saturday and Sunday before he had to head back to base.  He has always been a history buff so he enjoyed the sightseeing we did in & around Williamsburg, walking all around some of the old battlefield sites.  As we talked, I realized how good it was for our sailor to be with us for a couple days.  Having some normal family time was just what he needed amongst all of the COVID disruptions.

He still hadn't been able to get his hair cut so he asked his dad to bring along his clippers and give him a shave down in the hotel.  It took a bit of time to remove all that shaggy hair but it was worth it - he looked so much better when it was done!  Mission accomplished, haha!

B'sNukeMoM, I LOVE those pictures!  The face masks are fabulous and I can definitely "see" the huge smiles underneath!  Huge congrats to the beautiful newly married couple and to all of you.  I'm glad you had a successful trip.

Hi all - back from MI and back to work - trying to get caught up on work - ugh!

We had a wonderful time at the wedding - there was a total of 7 of us there (plus their 2 dogs who were in the wedding!).  We had planned on having it in her mom's backyard but it was raining (hard) so we had to move it inside. Everything went well and they are married and it was beautiful - even if it wasn't what they had originally planned.  The "renewal" is still set for May 16, 2021 at the original venue in CA.  I just hope that things are back to some sort of normalcy by then so we can have the celebration!  Never would have thought they would be doing a "zoom" wedding but it worked lol!

We had a wonderful time in MI.  Went by MSU to see the campus, saw the "Rock" and the Magic Johnson Statue.  Hubby had to see the football stadium - couldn't get inside but at least got pictures in the parking lot.  Went on a nice walk/hike at a park with B&C and their 2 dogs.  Hung out at their house and played games....just had a nice relaxing time.  It was good to see them and I'm so glad they were able to still do the wedding.  We had originally thought we would see them again in December at their graduation from MSU but they've been told no graduation - it will be online.  So darn, I won't get to see MI in the winter lol!

Hi ladies - leaving on a jet plane for MI tomorrow!  The wedding is Sunday ;-D  Can't wait.  I wish I would have more time (and we weren't in the middle of a pandemic) so I could meet up with some of you but we'll have to try it on another visit.  I'll be thinking of all of you......I'll post some pictures!
