All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Troy - Thanks for sticking around and checking on your group page!! I appreciate it. I wasn't sure who all of my moms and dads from that group were still very actively keeping tabs on that group or not. As for Beyond BC, I think some have turned off their notifications, which I understand, but occasionally I put out a plea for anyone from certain rates to reach out to me so I can connect new members.
I also posted a Happy Father's Day, I don't know if you saw it, so I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday!. I hope things are well for your sailor.
I don't really know too much about MAA. What is C school for? Our son just graduated from police academy and back in March, mainly because of Covid/economy and the advantage this would give him in getting a job, he enlisted in the Navy Reserves with the hope that he would get the MAA job. He did (and that's another long story) but after he graduates A school, he hopes to find a job locally as a police office. He enlisted just before the riots, so that adds another dimension to him being a police office. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes active duty if the economy isn't better after A school. So I guess we will just wait and see. Not sure if he would or could do C school. That is for a specialty, correct?
Glad you are enjoying being a part of the group and hopefully gleaning information to help you along this new journey. It is hard to let our kids go and this is an even harder time with the extra silence at BC. I did not know anything about this site nor am I on FB so I did BC alone and with the RTC website. Once I found this site, I started doing a lot more comparing of what I should expect and that didn't always work out - especially our PIR weekend. So, I do what I can to help others see you can get through this even with the ups and downs. Learning to be flexible has been a big change for me and my "planning" personality. You learn to embrace the times together, the phone calls, the letters, the emails - whatever it is because silence is part of the Navy life and staying positive in the middle of the adjustments as well as prayer is what gets me though.

I don't really know too much about MAA. What is C school for?
