Sometimes we I get our ETs and FCs confused or simply not sure which sailors are what rate so it was suggested that we start a new list so if you don't mind signing in to the the appropriate forum...I won't call your sailor an FC...if you don't call mine an ET!!! :-D

Me too, Karen! That was such a fun morning! Don and I really enjoyed meeting and visiting with your family! I'll be sure to pass on the hi to Claire from you. Tell that sweet son of yours hi from us too! :-)
Heather is he going to be working on Subs?
ET on subs are in a group that is referred to as SECF (I think I have that correctly) you are certainly welcome to join us here Heather but our sailors are not on subs and their schooling is different that what you will be exposed to.
I just signed up for this site today...my Navy son recommended it. Now I know why. I don't understand ANY of these acronyms. He said he is an ET...he went through (something) near Chicago. He has never been on a "real" ship yet and is stationed near Death Valley, California, which totally cracks me up. So much to learn....

Thanks to all of you!
My son will be an ET and currently going to A school at GL.
Woohoo I know now he is going to A school for ET! Since he signed up I knew he was AECF but somehow not knowing the ET/FC part left a lot of blanks for me! Now hoping to fill some of them in!
My son is an ET in "A" school at this time up in GL.
My son is on hold for ET A school at GL. He is looking into taking online classes as he says he is very bored right now. He is taking a indoc class...anyone know what that is??
My son is currently on hold in GL waiting to start ET A school. He completed ATT the first week of this month. He is working as a student assistant in a classroom so he is not having to do the normal hold cleaning and such. I think he is enjoying the work.
Tammy,
Did he have to wait to start ATT? Or did he go right after P I R?
ShortBecky, it appears that they are all having to wait to start ATT lately.
He had about a 6 week hold for ATT, then about a 9 week hold between ATT and A school. It seems like, from what I have been reading on N4M that the holds are getting a little shorter. Maybe yours won't have to wait quite as long. My son went in expecting holds, so there were no big surprises and he wasn't really bothered by it. Personally, I have enjoyed knowing where he is every day and being able to talk to him whenever I want. That will end all too soon, so we should enjoy it while it lasts.
