Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

Sorry to hear the cold weather is heading your way. Down here in sunny SW Florida it is a balmy 99..... I moved away from the Northern states just to avoid the cold! I was not made for it!
So Ship2/Div952 ladies. Has anyone started looking at hotels yet. I heard someone say (and it may have been on of you) that they are looking into the Comfort Suites? I was thinking Navy Lodge....any thoughts?
I've booked my hotel...Staying at the Residence Inn. I say we make it a party place for Ship 2/Div 952! Any takers?
We booked there too, so we are game!
Woo Woo!!!!
I need to see for sure if my son came come up with me or not. How many nights do we need to book a room? I don't know how late it runs during the day, etc.
I booked arriving Thursday the 11th, since PIR is at 9am on the 12th. We plan on staying until Sunday so we can spend some time with Charlie when he has liberty that weekend. From what I've read, the new Sailors will have liberty during the day but need to be back at NCT each evening.
We booked at the Homewood Suites, but can easily come over to the Residence Inn! YAHOO. I love the calender ticker- did you find that diana? How cool is that. I finally got the nerve up to wash Trav's box of civies. Don't tell him, but I threw away the undies and socks! HA. I sure am missing him today. We always watch the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, so maybe that's why. What A school are all of your boys going to? Travis is going to Corpsman School, which is at GL.
I got the countdown ticker and weather dohickie idea from another mom. I just think it's so helpful and keeps us all motivated - not that we need motivation!

Charlie is going to Pensacola.
Unless something changes, Brandon is to stay at GL for corpsman school also. Need to see if my son can make it and his girlfriend (as I clear my throat and cough). Is the Residence INN in Waukegon? How do we know how much they can be off?
I hear you about the (cough) girlfriend.... Charlie's wants to come as well, but we'll see....

Yes, I booked the Residence Inn in Waukegon. They have the shuttle/taxi service to the PIR for $6. I don't think we'll know for sure how much Liberty they get until we get there. But from what I've seen they will have each day until 7-8 at night.

Charlie is going to Pensacola for A school. I'm sure he'll enjoy the change of weather, and he'll only be an 8 hour ride from me so I can make some weekends out of it with him.
I'm cracking up at the coughing- I'm doing the same. My son put his girlfriend on the list- so we made reservations at Homewood suites, so that it's not so AWKWARD!! HAAHAH. SO glad to hear Brandon is going to Corpsman school- I didn't even know Travis liked medical stuff! HA
