Hi All! Haven't had time to catch up yet but so sorry about your GB Iris!  That's just wrong :-(

Landed back in OZ on Tuesday and immediately had major plumbing issues in the master bath (took days to resolve, gallons of disinfectant, and the disposal with extreme prejudice of many highly prized bits of bath linen ).  Also my step-daughter and her friend arrived from the USA.  Haven't even managed to unpack fully yet.

Really looking forward to getting back in a routine, enjoying the cool weather, and catching up with everything and every one!

No major news with A - just as he was really enjoying working with boats (in FL he impressed me no end by putting a friends boat so neatly into its slip that he was like a total pro) they have put him into a yeoman role in an office.  Haven't talked to him in a while to see how that's working out yet.  There was some talk of him testing for a rate as yeoman too which I don't think he wants to do.  The adventure continues :-)

Its most definitely harder around this time..and sucks more. It was 3 months straight of being together so its more difficult. It will take time to get used to..just waiting for that first letter

Nicole - Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things.  I'm sure you've been a strong presence for him, having been through this before, and being such a good friend and girlfriend .... not to mention that it will be no time at all and we'll all be saying goodbye to you and preparing to support you through boot camp.  Hurley's son Marc has already graduated and is now home .... and we were just talking about him leaving.  I know that you will gather yourself and come out shining on the other side .... you always do.  Hugs to you now though for the pain of separation and change.  Lots of love.

Here we go ladies! He left this morning and I bawled. He bawled. His family. His male best friend. It was like losing my bestfriend and boyfriend in the Same shot. So im pretty shaken and need to gather myself. Be back later. RSL

Oh Iris ... that is completely not fair to happen to you!  You were feeling so great and doing something you were l-o-v-i-n-g to do with the derby stuff.  I am so sorry ........ and knew that something must have been going on, but never imagined that!  If I read this correctly, you must be home now and I hope you were able to get a good night's sleep last night.  Sweetheart, thanks for letting us know and do keep us posted with your progress.  Tons of hugs for you this morning and extra, extra doses of RSL!

Iris!!! I"m so sorry! Can I get your address? I'd like to send you something...if you're not comfortable with that, that's fine. :)

Hang in there and get LOTS of rest!  (((Hugs))))

Hi Ladies. Sorry for being AWOL. Had my gallbladder removed suddenly so I've been in the hospital. 6 weeks off of Derby now. Boooo!!!  I'll catch up tomorrow after I've had a good night sleep in my own bed. RSL!

i was looking for the ice today!  it was a hot one!  glad the pool was ready to go!  overdid it a little on the sun but who cares!  just nice to sit on my floaty and let my mind drift for awhile.  like the story mary!   did i see you running naked with your socks on?  hee hee!   so, punishing the kiddo, huh?  raising kids these days is a tough job!   especially if you don't get "back up".   hubby has always been the good guy and left me to do the "dirty work".... makes me mad!   but what he doesn't realize is that in the process, my kids (even though they've hated me at times) have respect for me because i stuck to my guns.

so lets talk about something more fun..... like going to the beach!  i wanna go to both beaches!  i want sand dollars and sea glass!  let's go!   weeeeeeee!

wish i were there with ya AJ....  sounds awesome!

hey nicole!  guess i missed something about you getting a job.... glad you found one that you like!  go get 'em!  :)

hope everyone else is doing ok and having a great weekend!

talk to ya'll soon!   rsl!

Mary .... so funny!  Great imagery ..... I was with camera in hand yesterday, but not at the beach.  I was taking pictures of some wild and crazy looking mushrooms and some very hairy caterpillars (like over an inch long hair) .... thinking about driving over to the beach tomorrow a bit ..... that young girl that I've mentioned before here that calls me her 'mama' is coming today to spend the night, make pizza, watch a movie, play Wii .... and as she's never been to the beach .... we may go do that tomorrow early.  Can't decide which beach to go to ..... she doesn't know how to swim and there are some scary riptides here .... so we will be beach walking and wading ..... so what do you think, the beach with hundreds of sand dollars or the beach with tons of beautiful sea glass.  I love sea glass .... which goes by different names depending on where you are from ..... but you know, broken glass that has worn down over time by the ocean's waves, rocks, sand, etc., and is colorful, not sharp, smallish bits of pretty glass.

So Mary, did you think I was a bit harsh in my mom's community service?  What did you decide with your youngest and the shenanigans earlier this week?

Nothing but good news coming out of you Nicole!  Great job on the new job ... glad you like it so much already.  Yay!

I did get a piece of good news about the ship ..... after returning from this deployment, there is supposed to be some scheduled repairs and maintenance for about a year.  That will be soooooo nice to have some regular communication.  So hoping this is true!
