Hi Ladies!
Iris- I hope that Haley finds something that she can enjoy! I know Paul didn't enjoy being an MM. Ohhh, yeah, which brings me to the subject of something that is absolutely crazy and jaw dropping (for us at least).
So I was trying to sell Paul's NWU's because he doesn't need them anymore, and this guy called me wanting a set. So I met him at Paul's work and guess what?!!!! OMG, this is SO freakin exciting. He's really high ranking, like an E-9 or something. He asked us why Paul got out of the Navy, etc and we told him our whole story. He was HORRIFIED...never seen someone so horrified in my life over our story and he was like, I'm gonna work on this. He has direct lines to the Admiral of the SW region (where we are) and he is working on our situation!!! He said that Paul should NEVER have gotten discharged just because of what happened and that they have broken the law and all sorts of things. He had us email him the whole thing and he's working on seeing what he can do for us. Not that Paul will go back to being in the Navy (Paul said if they offer him to come back as an E-4, he might do it...) but at least something is being done and someone will know what we went through! Crazy, right?
Anyways, that's the biggest, bestest news I have...LOL. And then as a side note and a sad note, Paul fell yesterday and the bone was exposed on his knee....ick. At least I'm not one to faint at blood, because believe me, there was a lot of it. TJ just stared at Paul and smiled while I was cleaning the wound and getting it fixed up. Even though Paul was in horrible pain, he was smiling because of his little son. :)
Well, I"m in a hurry, but just had to share our news. LOL...I'm like a little girl...so giddy excited over this. I'd just come to the place where I was like, "ok, whatever....I just hope no one else gets emotionally and physically hurt by those people on the ship like we did...." But it's just amazing that this guy took an interest in us and our situation and is willing to see if there is anything he can do about it. He's been in for almost 20 years. :)
Gotta run! Everyone have a great day!!!
Oh yeah...forgot...TJ is such a boy...he was on the floor earlier with a cell phone case going "brrrmmmm, brrrmmmm" like he was driving a car. How do boys know this at 8 months??!!!! LOL I love being a mama!
Morning Ladies.
Mary - LOL... if they are getting naked around you they are either very comfortable or trying to impress you. Maybe even a bit of both. Lol..... I suppose there are worse things than a bunch of naked young men running around in your back yard. I'm thinking you might feel a bit like a cougar at times though. Lol.... Laughing with you Mary. =))))) The adult footies are a riot. I cannot see my husband in a Marine footy. He's 6'3" tall and skinny. Almost as good as envisioning him in a yellow tonga (aka - bolder holder g-string). I wouldn't recommend getting your kids these for Christmas unless you think they will see the humor in it. I could just hear the comments coming from them. Ha ha ha...... Mine would be confused. Hoping like hell I wasn't serious.
Well I finally got a hold of Haley. Apparently the reason she stood me up was that a good friend of her's had his father die suddenly. He had been home on leave and was back when he got a call that his father had slipped and fell and died in a freak accident. He went back on emergency leave to the funeral and upon returning Haley was his sounding board. I'm glad she could be there for him. So sad. He was very close to his dad and is really feeling the loss.=((
She is also not liking her rate. She's trying but finds computers confusing and it's a real struggle for her. Her co-worker doesn't sound very patient and makes Haley feel stupid. I told her she isn't stupid, this is just a different challenge that isn't something that comes easily to her. She's going to continue on and talk with someone about seeing if she can change her rate. She'd really like to do Corpman but nothing is open right now. I recommended she speak with her superior and find out what the best plan would be. Waiting till there is an opening probably will be the best, but in the meantime at least they know she is struggling with her current situation and maybe she can get a little more help in understanding the material. We'll see. She's worried she will look like a flake. I told her just don't wait till all her options are gone and she's between a rock and a hard place. Better to be upfront with her difficulties with her superiors and admit it, than wait till it's a mess.
Well, we have sunshine today and hopefully I can very carefully try to get some yard work done. It's such a mess. Have a great day everyone! Hugs, RSL, and all that Jazz!
Morning Ladies -
Donna - The surgery was done laparoscopicly. She used some of the old scar area's again. My husband and I are trying to figure out what she is trying to draw. A few more surgeries and we just might have it. =) Lol.... I'm feeling pretty good. Good enough that I'm laying off the pain pills. Not bad for 4 days post surgery.
Mary - Instead of being taxi driver, my swagger waggon has been commandeered. I haven't needed it so I'm letting him drive it to school and back. A guy yesterday stopped and asked about his car. He wants to buy it for parts for one he just bought. Cody actually might get a couple hundred out of it which would be fantastic! And man how I envy all you guys who are having summer. It's still cool and gray here. At least it's dry (for the moment) but come on. Let's stop Bogarten all the nice weather and share, would ya? Lol...
Haley stiffed me on skype. She apparently slept all day. I need to schedule better. Figure out when she has night shift and then schedule around that. I will chat with her later today - I hope. =)
Well, I got nothing new. Thank heaven's! Lol... gonna try to get some laundry done today and see what other little stuff I can accomplish. Then I'm helping with Derby practice tonight. Sigh!!! Derby Practice.... It's gonna be a long 6 weeks. Wanna bet I start skating at home before I'm released on July 15th? Lol.... I just can't let my husband or son see me. They are very protective at this point.
Well, have a superb day and I'll chat with you all later. Hugs to you, your families and your sailors/coast guardsman. RSL!!!
Hurley- It's when my daughters ship comes home. LOL I know that you know that.
Iris- Sorry I forgot you earlier. Hope y ou are feeling better soon. Did they do it laparoscopicly or did they have to open. My daughter had to have hers out while she was pregnant. Now that was fun!
