The USS Stockdale is an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer. They are on an 8-10 month deployment in the Arabian Gulf.

The Chaplain was previously on the USS Higgins when we adopted them. He was so impressed with the adoption that he submitted this adoption request for the USS Stockdale. We can't let him down, Mommies!

There are 252 males and 52 females in the crew.

We will not be sending pillowcases this month as they have already received them from another organization.

Both the Chaplain and the Command Master Chief have asked crew members what they would like to receive. Some said candy, toiletries, snacks, games, and magazines. But most said they want "anything from HOME."  So Molly Moms, let's do what we do best.......send these heroes some love from home!

Shipping dates are July 22 to July 25.

Pat L, I just wanted to let you know that HAE has done pillowcases for this ship earlier this year. I do not know if you want to go to the extra expence of making more or just to do the Care packages that you all do so well.

Maryellen

Thanks, Maryellen, just changed this on the post.

Pat, Your welcome, I just didn't want you to spend the extra money to make the pillowcases as you all do a wonderful job at the care packages. It lookd like both groups have been very busy this year. Thank you for your support of our troops.

Maryellen, do you have a theme in mind for this group?  I still have a bunch of MA items that wouldn't fit in the last box for the June adoption.  I can get some more items and add some of their other requests.  Just let me know what the thoughts and plans are.  I won't be able to get out until the end of the week, so there is plenty of time for shopping.  Can't wait to get going.

Proud Navy/NYPD Mom, You would ahve to ask Pal L, I was just letting her know the pillowcases were already done for this ship.

NYPD, The theme loosely is "Love from Home". That's what most of the crew requested. They said they will be thrilled with anything they receive. This is going to be a LONG deployment for them so hoping this adoption will be a big morale boost.

I just joined the group.  If I am reading correctly, I just fix a care package and ship it between July 22 and July 25?  If I get others to join me, we would make packages together and they would still be shipped between those dates?

BirdsOfAFeather, Exactly correct!! To have access to the address, you have to request to join "MAS We Ship Love." You can click on it on the Molly's Adopt A Sailor group page at the top. We do this to provide a little security for our "Contact People." As soon as I see the request, I will approve it.

Also on the "Molly's" page, you can click on labels to print. You can print then on paper and tape to the boxes or print them out on Avery labels. The purpose of this is two-fold, our adoptees know the box is sent from Molly's and other groups will see the label and send us an adoption request for their group.

I think I replied on the wrong thread a minute ago but wanted to say thank you for the information.  I'm looking forward to helping and am really excited about finding this group.

My son is on the USS Stockdale! :-)

Thank you!!!

Pat, are we doing indivdual boxes or group?

Hi Pam, Group boxes they can all share!
