For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My Son Left for BC today, November 14th
My son left today for boot camp and my emotions are all over the place. I'm excited, nervous and anxious all at the same time. However, I couldn't be more proud of him. I know they all will do great!

Mine too! I wasn't as upset as I thought. Teary for sure. I will probably fall apart in a few days when it feels more real. I'm trying not to think about how tough BC will be and look ahead to when he's finished and the adventures in store for him.

Such exciting times for these young men and women. My nephew left yesterday for BC. He’s my sisters youngest but we are all such a close family that he’s like my own. My husband retired Navy so we are very proud that our nephew enlisted. Hoping all goes well for your son and will keep them all in prayer.

I recall living that day. I left MEPS with the biggest lump in my throat and cried all the way home. He text me from airport with a picture of his plane ticket and I sat up that night watch my plane tracker til his plane landed in Great Lakes. Then not much later I get this scripted phone call he was there, talk to you in about 3 weeks love ya bye. Then those darn tears started all over again. I was pretty blaaaa for a few days. Then the box csme home with his things and wouldn't you know them darn eyes did it again. Now that I have his address and have talk to him once when I get that feeling I just start writing and he gets another letter. His PIR is 12/14/18 and I am so excited and can't wait to go.. I miss him..

You know first hand what it feels like. I’m trying to stay in good spirits but I have my moments where the sadness overwhelmes me. When that happens, I just reflect on something positive. I can’t wait until I’m able to write him. I’m sure that will help! Congrats to your son! Stay strong!

NAVY4BB you explained everything I have been doing to the tee except from the box. My son departed 11/13 a month behind yours. I figured that was going to stir up the ole waterworks when that box comes. Thanks for helping me prepare for that day.I am still crying sometimes when I find his socks under his bed and see his boots on the steps. Folding his wash and preparing meals with out him doesn't help either. I know having his address will be a relief. Has anyone found any good ways to help include a girlfriend in the process? I do text her because she is far away at college, but don't want to over burden her too much with her studies. I also don't want to be insensitive to her feelings and I want to help her get through this process too.
