OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

My daughter is also PIR January 5th. She’s division 051 though. I’m looking for any information on this as well.

My son left November 7.  He is in division 044 The Great Lakes Facebook page sometimes posts things but I haven't seen anything about the new recruits.

I'm going crazy with no contact...
I’ve noticed that. I go look every day just in case. lol.

Check out The PAO posts random photos randomly. There is no guarantee that your recruit will be photoed, but it is fun to look at the photos and get an idea of what is happening at the RTC. They do not have pages that follow a particular division. has pics of some of the recruits who give blood while at the RTC. Those donations occur about 2 weeks (10 to 16 days depending on the division) before PIR.

My son is also PIR Jan 5. He is Ship 11 , Division 52. Waiting to hear from him again either letter or call.
