OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Hello group!

My girl left for Boot Camp on July 30, 2018. I'm tentatively expecting PIR to be September 28. She will be going to Ft. Meade for A school. my question is, does every sailor have an overnight liberty before flying to Ft. Meade? Is it typically one night or 2? Thanks in advance!

Maybe! I'm going to look at the videos now to see if I can find my kid.

My kiddo left on 7/30, i saw her in the video too! Wonder if they're in the same divison?!?! I'm told shes in 376.

Just got my form letter! She is DIV 372, ship 11; PIR 9/21 instead of 9/28 as we expected!

Your daughter went in on 7/30 right?

Yes, she went on 7/30. Sorry for not replying sooner, having trouble finding my comments!

Mine is Ship 12 DIV 376, PIR 9/28

This waiting game is driving me nuts!  LOL.

Mine is DIV 376

How nice, Rhonda1 Where are you seeing these videos? The most recent one I can find is from July.

Thanks so much!
