OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Hi navy4khays, My son leaves on 3/01/17. I thought about getting a count-down app on my phone, but it might just put me over the edge :o

Hi PT mom, I totally understand how you feel. :'(

It hurts my heart every time the days get closer and closer to boot camp </3 :'(

It's 'bitter-sweet' at the same time.

My son left today, 3/29/17 for Boot camp.
His original date was 7/27/16 but was delayed to 5/8/17 due to a big mess up in paperwork.
He ended up getting a call last Tuesday pushing his ship date up.
The last week was awful for me and after dropping him off at the hotel last night I lost it & cried all night!
He is my only child and it just breaks my heart being away from him but I am so proud of his decision to serve for our country and can't wait to see him in 9 weeks!

I am so sorry to hear that your heart is broken. My heart is torn too. I've been a big baby since my hubby left. This is the hardest thing we've ever faced together. I don't know what I would do if they pushed hubby's ship date earlier than we expected. Hugs from another broken heart.

That's when my bf left and still no box or letter :(

Nor to his family yet ...

sailaway0708, Check the date of the discussion.

I left info on your My Page.

Army/Navy, Check the date of the discussion. It is from last year.

He will most likely send "the box" and The Form Letter to his parents. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what to expect.

Hello, my fiancé let the 29th as well, I think his mother received his box.. now we are just patiently waiting to receive the form letter so we can start writing letters and find out his exact graduation date.. anyone else receive their form letters?

Check your My Page.
