OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

I will post over on the other discussion, but I want to send 6 pillowcases.

I will "head" over to the store for some hair care.

Thanks! And that was a good pun!!!

Count me in!!

Thank you, thank you Mama!

Thanks, Pat.  Our VFW will be collecting items.

Many thanks to you and your VFW!

I'm in and have the DVD's covered and I found a great sale on T's

TERRIFIC!!! Thanks!!

okay all, I'm a newbie all the way around, how do we go about shipping any of the items listed above? Do we gather the items and send them to the moderator of the group. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

So glad to have you with us Rorie. Yes, that's basically it, besides a good chatty letter. Decide your budget for the shipping. Large flat rate box is close to $18 in postage. There is a medium and a small box/bubble envelope too. Pick up one of each at the post office to size up what you want to do. Place items in zipperlock bags. You want to keep all personal hygiene except for toothpaste and brushes separate from soaps, deodorant, etc. Otherwise, food tastes like soap.

Include your email in the letter, and it they have time, they may contact you. I also include one small thank you note, with it filled out that, Thanks, we got your package. They get free mailing on letters. They may be so busy as things heat up around the world, that you may not hear from them. If any of us gets a message, we share it. We are all Molly's Moms.

I often include some socks if I have them. This month my box is filled with blue tshirts, some pillowcases, and then whatever I have the most of (food or personal hygiene) to fill the box. If you have younger kids, they can draw pictures to include (NO glitter.)

I have done this from the beginning, so it's second nature. Let us know if you have any questions, as  I may have left some things out.  Include a friend and have coffee/tea and brownies, and pack together.

Thanks again, Carol
