I accidentally found this site while searching on Navy bootcamp. My daughter just left for bootcamp last Tuesday, April 18th. I am missing her and my anxiety level is high as I haven't heard from her. Yes, I received her 2 minute phone call upon her arrival, but haven't heard anything since then.  I also received her box of clothing and cell. Honestly, I am heart broken.  I miss her so much and it makes it much more difficult knowing we are living a difficult time. I am very proud of her and certain she will make it.   However, she will always be my baby as she is my youngest of two girls. My oldest daughter is married to a Navy Sailor. I just hope to hear from my daughter soon. :'(

Blondie those are beautiful pictures, looks like everyone is doing well.  How long do you get to stay with your daughter?  Enjoy every minute!

mamaT, glad you got to talk to your daughter.  Even those formal informational calls make us smile inside.  Just hearing their voices and knowing that they're doing well makes us feel better.  Yes, it is hard to be away from them but we get used to it and we survive.  Our girls are doing what they want to do and we support them just as we would have wanted our mother's support back when we were their age.  My girl has been gone almost 2 years now and I miss her every day still.

A lot of Happy/good news.  Yeah!!!!!  Those who are struggling, the Navy wants them to succeed and will help.  If they get set back, they just have to wait on another group to class up or join another class that is at that level or it use to mean that.  it's been awhile.

Hugs to all you Mama's and Grandmama's hope this brings a smile

Hope everyone had a Blessed Easter.  My day was great - Hubby and I got to go to Church with both my daughters, and we had Easter dinner together.  Son in law was not able to join us as he had a 24 hour shift as a Paramedic.  That young man works long hours between one more month of school, all his clinicals, and working too!!!  We figured the last time we had Easter together was in 2008!!!!

How exciting that your new granddaughter is almost ready to make her entrance.  Can't wait to see pictures!!!

So sorry she is going through this, but she will make it.  And it will mean so much more for all her hard work.

So happy that your girl passed!!!!  BZ to her!!  It's good that you got to visit with her before since you won't get to see her again before she heads off to her next duty station!!!!

Yay Momma'sGirl!!!  We know how proud you are!!!  It's hard on us, but what we get in the end - - priceless!!!

Just like Cookie's daughter, there are instructors who are there to help her out!!  Yes, she may not graduate with her division, worst case scenario, but she will eventually.  My daughter had a hard time doing that float in OCS and she struggled.  I told her, and you should pass along to your daughter - as hard as it feels, she needs to relax and not fight it!!!  My daughter would start to panic and sink like a rock!!  She really had to overcome that fear and relax and she passed!!!  I hope your daughter makes it!!!  Yes, keep encouraging her!!!

This is our last week in Oklahoma.  Going to visit a Navy Mom for a couple days next week, then continuing our travels.

Momma'sGirl I see that you got your call, yea!  Nothing better than hearing their voices over the phone!

I think this group was just super quiet over the holiday.  You're not doing anything wrong that I'm aware of, we're just quiet.  It's easier for me to get on with my computer so I don't comment much when I'm not at work.

What rate is your daughter pursuing?

Hi Guys,

Finally got our call today! She seems to be doing well. I miss her like crazy but she is doing what she planned to do, so I will just say that I am one proud mama!
