OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in AugustYou will meet others with loved ones who left 08/06/2018 or this week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together.

I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC in most cases. Let me know when you know what division your recruit is in. I will have more info for you.

If you would like information on your recruit’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Good Morning Anna and welcome to Navy Moms. and Congrats to your New SR. (Seaman Recruit). since she left Monday you should be recieving her Box which will have her clothes, Cell phone if she took one and shoes. this will come Fed Ex so someone will need to sign for it, if not they will leave a slip to pick up unless you can make arrangements for them to leave the box. then 9 to 14 business days after Phase 1 if she pases the run the form letter will be sent out. I will leave a few sites to read and go over and it will explain everything. If you still have questions or Concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. come join Boot Camp for Moms I help out on there. when you recieve the form letter it will have her PIR date and address where you can begin sending letters. PIR is her Graduation date.

What will the first day be like at BC?

See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and Ship/Division--How it Works.

How long is the "I'm here!" call and when will s/he be able to call again?

See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

Your recruit will send The Form Letter once Phase 1 is over and s/he has passed the first PFA and has officially been assigned to a ship and division. (See When to Expect Your Form Letter and  Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) for more information.)
