Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son signed up for 5 yrs. Thus far, he went to The Great Lakes Boot Camp, and did extremely well. He scored Nuke level on his asvabs how could he not??? And to think I didn't want him join!!! lol He's currently deployed, happy and doing well as an EM.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

It's not a good idea to post a pic of your Sailor every time you post. See change 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). Also make change 3 while you are there. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Join NUKE moms, and for USS Gridley DDG 101, join USS Gridley CG 21 (it hasn't been active lately, but if you join and post, others may also), Destroyer Moms (DDG), San Diego Moms or Sailors in San Diego, San Diego Moms/SOs, and/or Sailors Stationed in California. You may also want to check out Engineers, Snipe Moms, and Snipe Moms(enginers).
