Hi - got your message about Toms River. I don't know the family you mentioned - sorry. Unless they had kids in my sons' high school, and were part of the band, I really don't know a whole lot of people. :)
I received two letters from my son yesterday, and that is the first time I cried since he left. It was hard!! I've done good up to this point, but I can tell that even though he said his "head is in the game" he is hungry for news from home. Have you received any letters?
Hi! how are you doing? My son is ship-11 div-262. i miss him so much and hope is is doing ok!?! I realized he left without a calling card and I'm completely stressed out. I plan to go buy one today, but I am not sure how long it will take to arrive...
Well I just talked to my son and this is how the integrated divisions work at RTC....The ships have 3 decks..and there are about 10 compartments on each deck..however not all them are being used all the time...but anyways, the compartments are directly across from each other, so 5 on one side and 5 on the other...in his group, when they walked into the ship, the female compartment was on the left and the male compartment was on the right. They would sleep in the separate compartments. So in the male compartment, 1/2 of the men in the compartment were division 121 and 1/2 were division 122...the female compartment was the same...in the morning after they got dressed and ready, the 121 division males would go into the female compartment while the 122 females would go into the male compartment and they would spend the day training together. so your son should be with about 75 to 80 other males, and half of them in his division while the other half is in the brother division...I hope this makes some sense..lol....all the brother divisions are across the halls from each other in the ship, and the ship can hold as many as 30 divisions, but he said that some of the compartments aren't used...so realistically they probably have about 20 divisions to a ship....split on 3 decks...
She only got to call because she needed phone numbers for security clearance. So I took advantage and talked to her for about 10 min. She has calling cards and will get to start calling soon. She said the food was great, which was a huge relief!
My son left on the 26th and just received his form letter along with a real letter yesterday. He is in ship 09 DIV 265. Graduating Aug. 24th His letter was nothing but positive and really made me feel better. Hopefully you will get yours in the next couple days. Take care.
that was smart, if they make him send back the address book, it only had the 1 PIN in it anyways..lol...I always tell people to write numbers and addresses on a single sheet of paper, fold it up and put it in the wallet with their id....and also to write the important numbers inside a small pocket bible....they NEVER take someones Bible...lol
First off I will say that I agree with you on one hand, but there are a lot of opportunities that are afforded to married couples in the service...for instance school/college would be a lot cheaper....The Navy Married life is a hard road...but so is any marriage..lol...make sure your daughter knows that he will be away A LOT...lol.. but I am sure it will all work out either way they decide...
