My son is leaving in 6 days. He will be gone both major holidays and I have no idea when to book my tickets for his graduation. I don't know if it will be 8 or 9 weeks. Does anyone know how this…Continue

Hi Cyndii:
Looking you up on FB and there are a few Cyndii Smith's. Where are you from?
If you could go to FB and find me, maybe that would be easier. I am under Penny Foster Carey and you will find a picture of me a little sideways!!! lol
Look forward to being part of Seasters. I am also with a group that came from N4Ms and is called Nuke Moms (I believe). Would love to have you join there as well.
Hope you get this message soon.
Penny
HiCyndi, checking in to see how your son is doing since starting A-school and how are you doing as well.
My son is over in Goose Creek and just had their very first quiz; their big exam is this coming Tuesday. He received 3.57 said he made some dumb mistakes but the class average was only 2.5 YIKES!
Hope you are doing well.
Penny
Hi Cyndi, just checking to see if you found out yet what your son has been selected to be? MM, ET or EM
9 more days for our PIR - I can hardly wait.
Please stay in touch as to how your PIR goes.
Thanks,
Penny
Hi Cyndi:
Got a filled out questionnaire from my son that was dated January 3 and stated that it was 4.1. That would mean that this coming Monday will make 6.1 but yet last Sunday he said on the phone that they will be having the gas chamber, fire fighting and damage control this past week. When I look at the posted schedule by week, it is difficult to be able to figure out the week numbers ....do you find that as well?
Did you hear from your recruit as to how fire fighting or the gas chamber went? I heard the final written test was also a doozie...any word on that?
By now your recruit should know what his rating will be; I wonder if by any chance your son will graduate one week earlier but yet class up at the same time as mine....who knows. I find it difficult to figure out when classes start when students are graduating boot camp every single week. One nuke in John's same PIR is flying out on Saturday morning from GL whereas John won't fly until Tuesday. I can't understand that. Oh well.
Thanks for staying in touch. Look forward to hearing when you get the "I'm a sailor" phone call.
Found my son will be a MM at nuke school which starts February. 7. He really wanted ET or EM but either way I know he will do a very good job but I know he was disappointed nonetheless.
