Hi! I understand your concern. My son was extremely bright--could have had all A's in high school--IF he would have applied himself! He opted to party around...thinking "his future" was so far away. He started at Purdue...didn't take that seriously…

De--we got to join the Decatur's FRG--that means we've got to get our sons to give the Decatur's Ombusman our information with the request to give our information to the FRG. Dave has done it once, but he will do it again to get me to quit asking him LOL. Karen

Dear De,
Long time no hear. How are you doing? How is Erech?
Other then the heat, I'm doing well. Kim drove up two weeks ago. She finally made it within 7 hours. I hope and pray she memorized how she drove!! HAHA! Everytime she leaves, it takes her 11 hours.

Not much going on. I hibernate when it's hot ! I am so not a summer person.
Good to hear from you. Please don't be a stranger.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

De, the Family Readiness Group is usually the Navy wives group at the base for a particular unit or ship. They tend to do fund raisers for the ship's sailors and they are the ones that do the T-shirt orders, memorabilia, etc that us proud moms want as well. (The Navy doesn't make available memoriabilia for specific ships or deployments. With permission, they do allow insignia, etc to be used to make T-shirts, key tags, etc.)

When Clay was deployed to the Med Sea in 2003, they organized a raffle and FRG members sent packages to their sailor to raffle to help pay for the homecoming goodies. Just another way to keep in touch with our sailors.

De, I'm glad to hear from you again!! I try to copy all pertinent info about the Decatur and the CCSG7 to the group site. Even some Navy News that affects sailors' advancement, etc. Why should 18 other moms be searching Navy News when I do it anyway??

I need to find my password and get back to reading the Decatur's website. I have asked Dave to get me on the Ombusman's list for FRG info. I plan to be there when they come home and will take lots of pictures for you if you are not standing next to me.

I started dropping the notices from some of my groups and then I just "unjoined" them. Most of my N4M friends are in the groups I am still in and so I can still keep in touch with them. Maybe that will help you not get 2245 notices in the future LOL--I deleted 17 pages of these notices before I started cutting down. :)

No problem, De. We had a nice holidays, missing my son of course, but quiet. He still is deployed, have emails from him once in a while, but he is ok. Take care!

Dear De,
How have you been? I hope the holidays were good ones.
Have you heard from Erech?
How is he doing?

Kim bought a car and has driven up twice. I love seeing her, but I'm a nervous wreck when she drives. It's a 7 hour car ride and she drives alone.
Last week, she left at 2 AM, arrived back on base art 8:30 AM and started work at 10. Talk about cutting it close!! UGH!!

She heard her ship might pull out in August. SHe's dying to see other countries. I'll miis her, but I'll also be glad she won't be spending her money!! HAHA! She eats out everynight and see alot of movies!! UGH!

Let me get going. Stay well. It was good hearing from you again.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
