Thank you so much. Did you have to wait for a packet with the DD 1172 in it before you could go on base to get your ID card? That is what Im having trouble with. The recruiter said the insurance started when he went and I got a packet in the box of clothes but I guess it wasnt right because when i went on base to get my ID they said they don't give them out now until after A school. I think they just didn't want to help me. How far into boot camp was he when the recruiter took you to get the ID card? Thanks so much for any information you give me!

Is your husband still in A school when your going to make your move to FL?

Hello, I was reading through your posts and my husband is in boot camp right now and will be going to the same school and I had a few questions about insurance that no one seems to want to give me a straight answer. If you dont mind, when did your insurance kick in and how long did it take till the first pay? Im just curious because everyone is telling me different things (immediately, after A school, 6 months). I figure you went through it already and would know. Thank you!

I was reading through posts and seen you have a husband down here, check out our group for spouses with sailors in P-cola. Maybe someone can answer more questions for you.
I seen your post about the Navy paying for moves. If it was on his orders from GL to P-cola then yes, if not, then no. Also, I live right off base and there are a lot of rentals down here so don't worry if you decide to move, there are a ton of places you can get into.

Hi Lauren,

When does Andrew start school? I think Scott starts next week. He finally got his cell phone and laptop yesterday. Now he is just a cell phone call away. Way better than delayed letters.

Ya I'm planning on moving there as soon as we get married. Do u know any details on the move because with it not being a permenant station or whatever they call it he said he wasnt sure if they would pay. That will cost a ton of money if we pay for it. When do u plan on going?? My lease is up Sept 6 here so it should be around then. Any info about anything is helpful. Thanks, Jennifer
