My son is on a sub, currently out on deployment.
Regards, Bea.
I just read your post..I understand how you feel. Both you and your son are on a journey. Oh, how we yearn for their laugh, their mess, the energy they brought to our lifes! My Nick is my only child too. Even though he has been in the for almost two years the pain of seperation lingers only not as hurtful as in the beginning. Oh how your heart will swell with pride and joy at his PIR!!! It is quite the sight to see. Soak it all in! Congrats on his being chosen for Honor Guard. I think our children are the bravest people I know. To make a life changing decision full of unknowns takes courage and trust. My son is on his first major deployment and will be a sea at least 5 mos. I thought is would be easier somehow but it has been a bit more difficult. Communication is sporatic and not knowing where in the world he is or will be is hard but I hold close the belief that this is what he has wanted since he was a little boy and he is now living his dream.
I am so glad to find moms that have a son that is with mine!!! It just makes me feel better to talk to someone that has someone with Jeremy. I have been so excited in the last few minutes and commenting to all the moms with a child in Jeremy's group. I see that he will be attending A school in Florida. That is what I'm worried about. Jeremy will make such good friends in boot camp and then they will all leave him. He will stay in GL for his A school. I so wish it was Fl. That is alot closer to me. I'm going to write Jeremy this morning and ask him about Joey.
