About me:
I am 43 and married to the most wonderful man.( who by the way was in the Navy) My son Phillip is 21 , he PIR'd on July 3rd and is now in Washington DC training for Ceremonial Guard. He was in the DEP ( Delayed Entry Program ) from Dec until May 6th when he left for great lakes. I have a step daughter ( Mandy ) and 3 Beautiful grandchildren ( Hunter-4, Natalie-3, and Alisha-5months) . And her Husband ( Mike ) . I have 2 nephews who are my angel's and my sidekick's. My mom who is my best friend. My son is released from guard training due to a stress fracture in both his leg's and is awaiting order's for either his A school or somewhere else.
I am here to support or represent my:
Phillip
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To let my son make his own choices in life and to let him learn from his mistakes. And that he was going to be 21 and I had to learn to let go.. He is an adult now.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Pam, how are you doing? I hope Philip is doing well.
Looks like I get to go through it all over again next fall, my son Nolan is going to MEPS Monday to enlist. He is doing DEP until after graduation in June.
Matthew is in SD on the 'Air side' of the base. He loves it down there. He surprised me by coming home the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was great to see him.

Pam How are you doing? Fine I hope. I guess I will be seeing Jake at Thanksgiving and he has leave at Christmas from Dec. 19 to the 31. Can't wait. I am having Thanksgiving dinner here as my house is bigger then the others. Everyone is bringing something so it won't be that much work, just the clean up. I am getting to old for all this HA!HA! Hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Sandy

Hope all goes well with your surgery. Will be waiting to hear from you. You know they may need Phillip there at the guard until after January with all those boys coming in. I sure hope he gets his orders soon though. TTYL Sandy
