Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi!

I ordered four ribbons for graduation and they sent me a message to share with our graduating group.

If you order and use coupon code NAVYMOMSMAY2014 they will apply a 10% discount to our orders!

What is a PIR Ribbon?

PIR ribbons are worn by family and friends during the “meet and greet” and at the Pass In Review (PIR) ceremony.   It’s a fun way to show support and pride for your sailor and other sailors in their division.

Don't forget to make the changes below. You now need to make change 4 as well.

At 11:41pm on March 9, 2014, lemonelephant said…

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

The Rating Information card for Aviation Electrician’s Mate (AE) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ae.pdf and additional information can be found within https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/av.pdf. Join Aviation Electronic - AE, Avionics Technicians (AV) Moms, Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in March. You will meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC.

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer him to some good links on there.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your future Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
