OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Nicole SHIP11 DIV124 PIR March 19

Nicole
SHIP 11 DIV 124
PIR 19 March

Is in boot camp as we speak.
In her last letter she states that she had passed a swiming test and one more to go. The one she passed was; she had to jump off a 10' platform, swim 50 meters, get out and jump in the other side to do the "deadmans float" You have to have your face under water at all times for 10 min. unless you come up for air. Then get out put coveralls on and get back in while pushing air into them. Then do the deadmans float all over again.

Nice to see a Dad on this website! You will find it FULL of information. My son's PIR was just last Friday...thank goodness we all got out before this storm! I just want to tell you...you all are in for the most wonderful time when you go to Nicole's PIR. It is a life-changing experience, I have to say. You HEAR that before you go, but can't appreciate it until you are there. You will be SO PROUD of her...So, just saying good luck to her, treasure her letters and "few" phone calls home, and know that she is in good hands!
