Hello Stephanie, my son ships out June 22nd, he is enlisted as a corpsman( I hope that's the right word?) I'm still a navy mom in progress. I am trying to Google all the things I need to know, because having a 17 year old SON is like talking to a toddler at times and other times, my heart is so overfill with pride because he helps me learn things. I never thought the day would come when I couldn't teach him something, he's the teacher now.

Stephanie - I sent you a friend request. I tried to reply to your question on the Nuke Mom page, but I feel like there may be an underlying question you are not sure how to ask there. I wanted to be able to converse with you a little more on it, and we can do that as friends through the private message option on this site.

I am not a part of the DEP group, so I cannot answer your question about NFCU versus USAA, you might want to ask that in the BC Mom group as well.

Welcome Stephanie.
I'm another of the moms who has been here for a while and I try and help our new moms get their bearings.  I have a blog that will be helpful for you as you get ready for your daughter to leave for BC.

Stephanie  - Welcome to N4M and the BC Mom group. I am one of the "seasoned" moms that volunteers on the BC Mom group and I welcome new members when I receive a notification that someone has joined. I apologize for my delay in welcoming you, I have been busy.

I saw your post on the main BC Mom group page and replied to you as well as Northwoodsmom also replied. I encourage you to also join the two other groups that B'sNukeMom gave you the links for below. My son is also a Nuke, about to finish up with his enlistment, but I also have his wife, my DIL that is a Navy sailor as well (NOT Nuke), who is planning on staying in for 20 years and so I will be around for awhile at least.
