Jamie,

Thought I would give you another update. I was just reading through my comments and yours always make me smile.

I received my first letter today from Chris. He passed his PFA and his 1 1/2 mile run with a time of 11min 30sec. :) One hurdle accomplished! His PIR is May 6, and we will be driving back to Chicago from Washington via Omaha. Yes, it will be crazy, but never boring.

Time is flying by, it will be time to leave before I know it. How is your son doing? I'm sure he's doing great and loving what he's doing.

Jamie,

Thank you for the sweet note. Chris won't PIR until the middle of May, but will be there this summer. I am so very proud of him. I know he's being taken care of and is a "big boy". I was proud of myself that I didn't cry in front of him at MEPS yesterday.

Thanks again for your advice and concern. Monica

Thanks for the advise Jamie. Yes, we are planning on going to graduation. We will probably drive as we are taking my mother in law with us and she lives in Omaha. Long story....I won't bore you with it.

Chris enlisted as a reserve just to get his foot in the door. His A school is at Port Hummee(sp?) in Calif. He will be a SeaBee and C.M. His "home" base as of now will be in Everett, WA! Very close to home.

It sounds like your son is doing great and moving right along. I am hoping and praying that Chris will be on the same path after bc.

Thanks again for your advise and for "friending" me!  Monica

jamie,

I thought I would update you on our "behavior" issue with my SR. You were absolutely right that I would see a difference in his attitude. He leaves for bc in one week (3/9). The time went by so fast! I had a long talk with him back in mid December and he has been a pleasure to be with ever since.

Thank you for your advice, you hit the nail right on the head! How is your son doing?

Jamie,

Thanks for your support. My son (he's an only child) is a great kid also, but can fall into attitude zone in a second. He doesn't leave for bc until March, and March can't come soon enough for me! He is obsessed with everything Navy, and why wouldn't he be? Good luck to your son and Merry Christmas to your entire family!
