I did not receive a letter from him Thursday, either. On his last call he had told me he was going to send me one last letter on the 29th. Something must have made him unable to mail it.
I will watch for you and your family. We will also have our daughter and her husband with us. We have been empty-nesters for several years, as well. We haven't gotten our "I'm a Sailor" call yet. Have you?
Yes, I am taking paper/pen to PIR, too. We could be facebook friends. That would be nice. But I don't discuss any Navy business on facebook. Just recipes and fun stuff. At the PIR I will be wearing a round pin that I made. It has the image that you see on my NFM page (the trees and lavender groundcover) and it says "Sunny" on it. By the way, that's not my real name. I'll tell you when I meet you. How will I recognize you? I can tell by your comment about his letter that you're missing your son! Is this his first time away from home? They are probably doing Battle Stations today. Praying for their strength and alertness! We are leaving Tue morning to drive up there, so you won't hear from me after that. I don't have internet on my cellphone.
So glad to welcome you as a friend! My husband and I will be at Sarge's meet & greet on the 10th. Can't wait to meet everybody!
Hi!
I ordered four ribbons for graduation and they sent me a message to share with our graduating group.
If you order and use coupon code NAVYMOMSJULY2014 they will apply a 10% discount to our orders!
What is a PIR Ribbon?
PIR ribbons are worn by family and friends during the “meet and greet” and at the Pass In Review (PIR) ceremony. It’s a fun way to show support and pride for your sailor and other sailors in their division.

Just got them in and they look incredible!
I am doing pretty well... I wish it were Thursday though! I have a gem and feel really blessed to have such an incredible man. He really is selfless and making the effort to write me no matter what. He said that it will be tough and letters may be shorter but just another challenge he will have to endure. I do have a question, for the meet and greet, do I have to buy a ticket or register. I was planning on going...
In Regards to the FB site... I requested and still pending. Had to answer the questions so hopefully soon!
I have not ordered my ribbons yet... that was in the packet info right? I still need to go through all that!
Yeah, the call we got yesterday was an hour because he earned it too about a week ago. He said he was going to be able to call again but he was not sure when that was going to be able to take place.
If your attending graduation, I will definitely have to look out for you! So great to know someone else that can relate to this process outside of family. :)
