OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Hi, boot camp is 7 to 10 weeks--the average is 8 1/2 weeks. Arrival and What Happensat the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what happens at the RTC.  She will go to MEPS the first time and if everything is set, she will sign a contract for a particular rating or for the PACT program and then get a ship date for going to the RTC based on that and will be accepted into DEP for up to a year. Once BC is over, she will go to "A" School for that rating or training if her contract is for the PACT program. When Will the Recruits be Paid? and Information for Spouses will explain about pay. Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC may also help with some of your questions. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
