I am missing my 2 boys. Have not heard from the one that went to Japan yet. And the last I heard from my oldest (BC) was Monday nite. The closer it gets to the holidays the sadder and harder it gets for me.
OOPS sorry thats what I meant was the Molly's group. Yes I have one that left for Japan this past Saturday for the USS George Washington. And one left for BC this past Monday. My husband retired last December 31,2008 after 20yrs and 12 days.

How long does or did it take for your sailors to call and say they made it to Japan? My son left Saturday night and I have not heard anything yet. Makes me worry.
I got a call from my son at 10:30pm last night saying he had made it to BC. I still have not heard from my son that left for Japan.

I had to cheer for both teams also. I am a Army Brat.
I am about 50 miles NE of Dallas. I have no clue as to where the panhandle is.
I thought I was going to be able to handle it. Might have been easier if they weren't all happening on the same day. My son is going to be attached to the GW.
Well I have a son on his way to Yokouska, Japan. And a son they are taking to the hotel today for the swearing in tomorrow. Did not sleep a wink last night. Thought I was going to be able to handle it all in one day. I guess it ain't happening.

- I have a son who left for boot camp in May and is due to graduate in July. And I have another son that is due to leave for boot camp in December. The only thing that bothers me is I don't hear from the one that has left already enough. it is a wait for the call thing.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- My husband is retired Navy. And my father is retired Army Special Forces from the Vietnam Era. And surprising enough grandpa took it very well when the boys told him they were enlisting in the Navy.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
