DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

momofnavydaughter,

I know this is terribly late but I want to welcome you to Navy4Moms and to the Moms of Daughters 2 group.  I haven't been as active on the website lately because there have been several things with my family this fall and winter.  Sorry I didn't get to welcome you much sooner. I'm glad you have made some contacts here and I hope you have been able to make some friends.  My introduction to this website began in 2008 when the website was originally created. I have made some friends here that I still keep in touch with for years.  Once a Navy Mom always a Navy Mom!! I am also a Navy vet so the military has been a huge part of my life!  My middle son started as an E 1 and advanced all the way to Chief and just recently commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer.  His little sister is a LT, former NFO and then transferred to the Medical Corp as an Aerospace Experimental Psychologist.  Her twin sister is also a Navy Vet!!

If there is anything you want to know or trying to figure out please don't hesitate to reach out.

momofnavydaughter - Welcome Aboard!! I am one of the "veteran" moms that helps welcome new members to the BC Mom and Loved Ones group. If you haven't already, be sure to go to our group page, scroll down past all of the information, past the discussion area, and you will find a Comment Wall like this one on that group page.

That is the best place to post your questions, share your emotional ups and downs, if you want and just to chat with others who are on this new Navy Mom journey. Feel free to ask questions about sending your daughter off to BC, as well as aspects of BC or PIR.

There is a lot of information on our group page as well, so be sure to read through that. But more of our members will see your posts in the Comment wall area.

My sailor has been in for 5+ years, and I now have a sailor DIL as well!

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
