I'm not sure that it is walking distance. I'll ask if anyone in my group stayed there and let you know. Sarge is amazing. He took good care of my son the first time he came home. Being 18 he had no idea how to take a cab or train or anything, we just don't do that down here in Texas so public transportation was foreign to him.

I got your friend invite. Thank You. I didn't get to read the message. I keep clicking the wrong thing when I add a friend! Sorrry

The Navy Lodge is about 2-2.5 miles from the RTC Ohio street entrance.

Sarge seems to be the "go to" guy in this situation.

Do you know if your son and his GF (future fiance!) have plans for after PIR? The Metra is right there. I am sure he can walk it...I just don't know if it is a good idea! I bet there are a lot of willing folks that could help out!

I really hope it works out and please feel free to email me!

I will check back on you soon!

I don't know how far the Navy Lodge is from the PIR Hall.  Is the Navy Lodge on base? I thought it was off base? I would text Sarge and ask him, he'll know and he'll know if he needs to get a ride or be able to walk.  I used sarge for info on eating, pir questions, etc.. he is a wealth of info... I am sure he'd take your son to PIR from Navy Lodge if he needed a ride.  He's great! :)
