Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members." There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Where is your Sailor stationed? What vessel, if one? There may be groups I can direct you to.

I see you have joined NUKE moms; you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend when the time comes. Your Sailor may have Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY; if so, join Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NY at that time.

I can understand that....where will he be going for school? Michael will be staying there so we're thinking we'll get to spend time with him over the weekend unless things change.

Oh bless her heart...I know that is hard. We have a chocolate lab and Michael constantly played with him so I'm wondering what the heck he is thinking...I'm just anxious now to get the letter so we can make our plans for graduation. Are you guys going to be able to make it to graduation?

Yep, our youngest (14) said last night he was going to 'use' a few things of Michael's since he was gone...LOL...I think he wants to lay claim on a cool pocket knife. I've got to get in there and put several things away before he get to them. :) I think it hit our 18 year old when he came home last night. He just said it was so weird not to talk to Michael before bed to see who was going to lock everything up and turn the lights out. (My guys have been night owls this summer). So glad you have your hubby for support...it would be really hard to do this alone. Although I do have to say every time the phone has rung today I have jumped...I'm sure that will get better as the days roll on.

Doing pretty good...I think I cried twice too...I had to run something up to our church and started crying with the preacher. LOL :) Although I got a nice surprise when I called our insurance agent to take his vehicle off the policy...$150/month savings! I keep going in his room with thoughts of cleaning it up but just can't do it yet. He's not the neatest kid so there's no telling what I'm going to find...I'm sure he's be neat by the end of the week though! We just keep saying 'wonder what he's doing now?'...so weird not to know! How is your hubby doing?
