Make changes 2 and 3 (and probably change 1 as well) at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Same here, son arrived to BC on 1/15 and other than the scripted call I haven't heard from him. Did your daughter have a calling card?

Hi twosilvatwins, I saw your post that your daughter left on Jan. 15 and you have received a call already.  My son also left on the 15th.  He made the 30 sec. call at 1:30 am Thursday morning.  I haven't heard anything since.  I'm waiting on the box and the form letter.  I wonder if they are in the same group?  I'm so new at this.  So her P-days haven't even started?  Did she say when they would start up?  I'm trying not to worry too much and be patient.  I would love to hear from my son.  Take care and blessings.

Hi my son is on ship 4 div 19...I got a phone call from him on Monday and a letter with his graduation date scheduled for 12-17. I was so excited to hear from him. My other son leaves on Nov 22 for his basic training . It will be so hard with both my boys gone.

Hi, thanks for accepting my request (: I am so thankful I found this website so I can talk to mothers/relatives/friends that are going through the same thing I am. I look forward to keeping in touch throughout these next few weeks (: It looks like your son is probably around the age of my boyfriend. He just graduated high school in May as well. Maybe they will know each other. Have a great day !

That's great that you went to the airport. I bet that was an awesome experience for your family. We didn't go to the airport because they left MEPS later than they anticipated, so we wouldn't have had much time. My son did take his cell phone with him, so he texted me for awhile, before he took off, and then he called me when he landed in GL. I got the "official" call later than night too. My son has 4 siblings too, but he is the youngest of the 5. I'm hearing rumors that most of the kids who leave this week will probably have the same PIR, but of course, it's just that, a rumor. lol
I have also been told, but not officially, they there PIR will most likely be 12/17.

I see you are in Belen. We are in Rio Rancho. My son left with 2 other Navy boys and 2 that were going into special forces in the Navy. There were a lot of kids shipping out for the Army at MEPS that day, probably about 20 or so. Well, if your timeline is like mine, you might get the box tomorrow or Monday and, I would think by Monday, you could probably call the recruiter for his ship, div. Is his recruiter in Alb.? My son's was at Cottonwood Mall recruiting station.

Hi, my son actually left on Monday. I didn't even realize that anyone was going on Tuesday. How is he doing, have you gotten your box yet? I got mine yesterday and today I got his ship and division. Good luck to your son and ((hugs)) to you. We should find out our PIR date next week.
Betsy
