While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi! My daughter left for BC July 5th. Have not got a letter from her yet, but have written many. The address they give you is the one they will be spending BC at, but for now your son should still be in processing which takes I think about 3-4 days. They have to stamp their name in everything they are given, plus they have to sign a bunch of papers

Mine also, teaparty24! I miss him like crazy. It's so nice to have this forum - I was feeling like a real whimp thinking that I was the only one who felt this way. Learning that I am not alone and that most moms feel the same way makes it so much easier.

He was exhausted last night when I talked with him because he had been up since 4:45 a.m. He flew out of Jacksonville, FL with 10 other guys. His little buddies from the neighborhood have already come over today to see if I had heard from him and they told me "I know I'm not supposed to say this, but I sure do miss __________!" It's so cheering to know he has impacted the lives of these young boys. I will post more later, but know I'm so glad to hear from you both and hope we can be a source of encouragement for each other during this time as we countdown to PIR!

They actually keep them up about 48 hours when they first arrive you will receive his/her box of belongings(anything they took with them) in about 1 week, followed by a form letter, do not look for a phone call until week 3 - on the form letter with be their PIR date and Division - look for that Divison on here and join that group - very valuable info on this site, search it well. Good luck to you all, It's very hard just remember No News is Good News! GO NAVY!

My son did say that they would probably not get to go to sleep until 10 p.m. Thursday night and that it would be 3 weeks before they got another call! I'm hoping my form letter gets here quickly. My son is a pastor's kid so he has 2 churches full of people that love him and want to write to him so I know he will be able to share cards with others who might not receive as much mail. I have been writing down all the sports news for them already and printed the article about the oil well being capped in the gulf for his unit! This site has already been a great source of info and I can't wait to join a division group! GO NAVY!

Hi all hang in there you will not hear from them for 3wks, you will get all their stuff home in a box that they took with them. Go ahead and start writing your letters today. As soon as you get there address send them letters. They need lots and lots of letters to get through BC. My son PIR date is 7/30/10 so we are counting down the days till we get to see him. As stated below when you get their ship and div and pir date start some groups and the other moms can join. Hang in there and this is a great web site. You can learn almost anything you want to know about the Navy on N4M. Debbie

Hello - my step daughter also left on July 14th from California. She took her cell phone with her and called when she arrived at OHare Int'l. and sounded very happy. . .but when we got the ten second phone call from GL she sounded completely different like someone had left the air out of her sails; broke our hearts! But she's strong and will make it through this I have no doubts. I've read everything I can here at this site and on the internet and she and I both read the book "Honor Courage Commitment Navy Boot Camp" before she left so I'm hoping that she at least had a little insight as to what she was going to be going through - although nothing can prepare one for the actual experience. Already wrote her and anxiously awaiting for the address. Looking forward to hearing when everyone else gets "news" so that I know approximately when to expect something from our loved one.
