Hi Ladies and Gents (too) !

Just moving this discussion over from the Leaving from Boot Camp in August Page since it makes more sense to have it hear now!

Please join so we can all stay together and support each other through this!  Has anyone in this group received a letter or phone call yet?

I'm still waiting on that letter. Being in Florida might be making the difference right now. but I'm trying to be patient-not doing a very good job :)

This note is with a heavy heart as my son called home this morning and has been separated from his division.....due to pneumonia and bilateral ear infections. The heaviest part of this note to you is that he will be coming home. It is a medical reason and honestly I do not want to go into it on this site as I know RDCs read this. My heartache is that this could have been avoided, I don't think they have their facts straight about his health and I don't understand how one person can bust their butts for 7 weeks and then be told "sorry we don't want you anymore." Oh, and by the way, he was definetly NOT one of the troublemakers. He was section leader and doing fine and what he was told to do.

I am so upset and bitter right now that the crying is uncontrollable. I can only imagine how he feels. He won't be home for a few weeks but at least I can talk to him almost every day.

Best wishes to your recruits. I know they will shine! I will continue to have my candle lit for all of them through Battlestations and I will be there in prayer with you on Friday when you are there for graduation!
Maribeth
Oh Maribeth, my heart is breaking for you. Thanks for letting us know. If you would like to vent, go ahead and send me a pm. This is a tough time for both of you and I will pray for both of you to have strength to get through.
Maribeth- I am at a loss for words. I can't imagine how you must feel right now, I am so sorry for your pain. I will pray for both of you, for strength, courage and wisdom to see you through this. Thank you for the well-wishes, it shows what a good person you are. I am so sorry. God bless you and your family.
Maribeth~ I am sooooo sorry, I don't even know what to say to you! That is very sad news about your son. My heart just aches for you! I wonder why they are seperating him, rather than putting him on medical hold until he recovers???? There were recruits in ship 6 on medical hold when my son was there who had come down with pneumonia. One I know of recovered and was put back into a new division and just graduated Oct. 1, 2010. There has to be more to it than they are telling you!!! I will be praying for your son and your family. Maybe he will be discharged with a code that allows for re-elistment once he recovers? Look into it. There are groups and discussions on here about being seperated. I believe he will be sent to ship 5 to wait until all his paperwork is filed, before they'll be able to send him home. They usually send them home on a bus too. Please keep us posted!
MArybeth my heart goes out to you. I can not imagine the heart break you and your son feel we will be praying for his recovery and a safe flight home your in our prayers
I heard from my son yesterday. He was so excited because he got to eat Taco Bell. Kinda strange but I understand. He said the rest of his time (other than Battle Stations) will be boring. He said they are sitting around the barracks doing nothing now. He said he's in the best physical condition he's ever been in. He's looking forward to eating deep dish pizza and a huge steak. I guess we'll have to oblige.:) We fly out this Thursday and will be in town until Sunday afternoon. Sad thing though, he leaves town early Saturday morning. We'll make the best of it.
Funny that you said he got to eat at Taco Bell. My son asked me if I would take him to Taco Bell while we are there? I got him a few gift cards to places I was told were around school... he will go to GL... He ALSO said in my last letter that he has gotten VERY fit and kind of looks like the Hulk!
Let's just call them both....studs!!! :) It's good for their egos....I think.
Battlestations is finally here! My candle is lit, prayers said (and continue to being said) for all of our SR. I will be so glad to get that phone call tomorrow. I will post as soon as I get mine. I'll be at work so that should be interesting to drop everything if the phone rings. Couldn't take the afternoon off cuz I already have the rest of the week off!

We are staying at the Residence Inn and will be in sometime early afternoon on Thursday. Is anyone going to make it to M&G? Anyone interested in meeting up either before or after? I'd be happy to share my cell # if anyone wants to try to get together.
We just got the phone call. My son is in the Navy!! He's been up for over 33 hours and will get some sleep in about 5 more hours. He said BS was real cool. He also said the "hat changing" ceremony was emotional. Hooray to all!!
Congrats to all moms wife's sisters and brothers of the New US Sailors They did it and with a 4.65 best in all the divisions so far. we have some really amazing sailors See you all on Friday
Just wanted to let you guys know, my son in div. 822 went through bs with your div. They are only allowed to send 88 through at a time and their div. had more than that, so some of them got farmed out. If any of your sailors mentioned someone from that div. in their bs it was my baby :) Friday can't get here soon enough!!!!
