I've read through the other marriage threads, but I wanted to put my own personal situation out here.

I pushed my fiance to get married before he left, but he blindly followed the recruiter's advice that it would be "more complicated" and could "set him back' and all that.  Because of it, I'm squeaking by on money, and that BAH would've helped a lot... -sigh-   Well!!!  I want to get married after PIR, but I keep reading things that say that won't happen... then I read things that say it could... then I read others that make me cry.  I don't know what to believe, and I don't know what to do.  He is supposed to be going for Nukes and I want to be able to move with him as soon as possible.  I want him to be able to see his 5 month old daughter, you know?  This young is the fastest they grow up, and I don't want him to miss it!

Well, is it hopeful that we could get married after PIR?  If he doesn't get nukes for some reason and ends up stationed in GL, would that make it impossible to get married?

I have so many questions and I"m so confused.  I've known nothing about the military or what is going on, and my fiance just believed everything his recruiter told him. :(  Please help me...

For everyone who is planning this with out your other half...you might want to wait until you can talk face to face.  This is a two person choice...not just a one.  Also recommend you not push anyone to do anything, if they want to get married they will get the correct, current informaiton from the command to get married.

As for allowing time off to get married, IF you get married while in "A" School odds are really hight it will just be a really quick JP wedding.  Navy and School will ALWAYS come first as long as they are in.  Mistress Navy is demanding

Nothing is being planned without him.  He asked me to marry him, but then his recruiter said to wait until after basic training or it would have complicated things.  He basically scared my fiance into not marrying me... which I have been told is utter crap.

Well, in order to live together like we both had planned, we need to get married ASAP.  I'm trying to get a little information so I don't freak out the entire time he's gone, because supporting 2 children on my $674 a month isn't cutting it and I don't want to have to wait for months and months before we could even get married.   All I want is a quick courthouse wedding, and then we have however long we want to plan a fancy ceremony.  It is the living with him and what not that is important.

Yes I am in the same boat as u .. But ur BF is going to nuke school ???
I'm not sure, actually.  I have to ask him what his enlistment papers said.  He might be going for AECF instead... which he'd be in Great Lakes for A-school....  mhhrrrrrr.  I hope he's getting Nukes, 'cause that was what he really wanted to do.
Well its actually my other half wanting to hurry up and get married .. He is the one who also asked for me to look u and ask other wifes questions.. But thank u for ur in put ..
