Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Holidays for Djibouti in June 2011
Ladies, we are going to Africa! These kids are a group of Seabees (NMCB 74 DET 11). They have been away from home since November and they have missed the holidays back home. Sooooo, we are going to give them what they have been missing. Christmas, New Years, Ground Hog, Valentines, St Patricks, April Fools, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Birthdays and any other holiday that we can think of. We can send them decorations for each holiday. Maybe some of the packing parties can adopt a holiday and go all out!
They live in Clu's which are connex boxes molded into rooms. They would love pillowcases so lets see about getting them a little bit of home for their rooms. They have microwaves, fridge and freezer access. They can get most of what they need from their NEX. Two things they would love… energy drinks and toothpaste other than Colgate! (the only brand they can get) They say they really do not 'need' anything. They would love to have cards and letters, so lets get them cards and letters from each of the holidays that they have missed.
It is very, very hot there and it is 110 to 120 degrees. So lets try to get them some neck coolers and some freeze pops and maybe some of those hand held mist fans would be something to help ease the heat.
There are 150 with the breakdown of 130 males and 20 females.
We will be mailing June 23 thru the 28th!

I just mailed a box with water toys, a box full of freeze pops and a 4th of July box full of decorations, beads, bubbles, patriotic handheld battery fans and some water mist fans. I hope they get smiles from these boxes!

Debbie that is wonderful. You sure know how to pack boxes!! Those Seabees won't know what time of year they are in with all the different holidays. Your boxes will put them back into spring & Kim's will remind them it really is July!

Thanks - it was fun - @ proudNavy/NYPD mom - I usually send about 24 boxes a month to my son's ship (Higgins), and I also pack about 400 boxes a month with my Blue Star Moms group, so I have the packing and taping thing down pretty good. The ladies at the post office know me well. Usually when I walk in the door, they go into the back and bring out the rolling cart so I can unload my truck.
This was fun to do all the Easter stuff. I should have taken a picture of the inside - even lined the boxes with Easter grass!!! Hope they like it.
