Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Cortramid East in July

Hi everyone.  Our son has received Cortramid East in July.  Can anyone tell me exactly how this works?  At this point, he's gotten little information.  We will be driving our son from Maryland to Norfolk, and we don't know what time our son will be checking in, etc.  Is check-in the same time for everyone?  In the morning?  A general timeline would be helpful.  Thanks so much!

I agree, but the reality is, at least in our case and I'm sure some others, I need to know the travel plans so I can make arrangements to transport our mids the 65 miles to n from the airport for their respective cruises. The unit doesn't take care of that part of their travel :)

Dress whites or not for Cortramid East?  DS was told "yes" by his Unit before he left in May, but hasn't been able to get ahold of anyone to confirm one way or the other now.

Also... do your mids think they need their khaki uniforms?

Thanks for responding.  The instructions were conflicting.  One set said "whites" one set did not list "whites."  Sometime during packing last Wed. he finally got ahold of the "final word," which indicated no whites.
