Hi julie yes I did  get a call . After having nearly ripped my mailbox door off !!! My Sr sounded so tired and he siad they all had the flu.

They seem pretty much up to date with our letters to them ,but still nothing coming out ...It was good to talk to him and find out their routine .  I was a good mom and shared the call with his twin sister who goes off to college next week so that was good for them .

Max said we should get another call in about 3 wks depending on everyone being up to speed !

They are all shaping up good !!Have a better day today for that call :D

Sheryl I just got a letter from my son and he says he knows your son.  He is the leader of their div and he says "I have mad respect for him."  He told me to tell you that you have one hell of a son (he put "sorry for the language Mom") He said that him and your son are bros, that makes me feel good.  As I am sure it does you too.

Hi JohnsMom,

that is great . I had a letter waiting from my SR early hours this morning and he mentioned your son too. It seems like they are all keeping their nose to the grindstone .3 wks cant come soon enough to see them all .

Keep up all the good encouragement you Moms .

My name is Becky and my son Thomas is in ship 12 div 312. He called yesterday and said it wasnt what he thought it would be but he is hanging in. He said he was doing ok...And then he got a little upset and said he loved us and missed us. He was home sick. Has anyone elses son been like that when he has called. I just felt so bad for him. He has never been away this long. Thanks

THOMASPNAVY--My son was that at the airport and it broke my heart for him.  He also has never been away from home.  But when I talked to him on the phone he sounded very upbeat (I'm sure that he gets his moments when the homesickness is really bad).  But I told him that there will be lots of other kids that are just like him.

I have yet to get a call from my son, Andrew.  So sorry to hear that your son is home sick; so is mine -- and he's always been very independent -- his whole life.  Whether he was away at summer camp or the first day of school; he has never looked back - but now he just misses home so much.  I think this experience is hard for all of them.  Hopefully all the SR will find a way to bond and make a family away from home.  I'm sure they will.

My best for you and your son.

Mine called yesterday and said that it wasn't as bad as what he thought. He missed being home and was homesick, but bootcamp wasn't as bad as what he thought. He can't wait for it to be over with though. I know all of our SR's would like to be home, but don't worry. he will get into the swing of things. Has he made any friends? I know my SR said if it wasn't for the friends he has made their, then it would have been alot harder. I hope things get easier for your SR though!

Mine called yesterday also. He had said they had IT and he said one time it was his fault for getting his shoes on fast enough. He said it was ok, but he was home sick also. I figure that it is new and different. Im sure the men being around them and being tough on them is new also. I know he will make it tho. I was wondering if anyone knew if their Sr is a grad and go. Thomas said he might be??

I don't think mine is a grad and go. He hopes not anyway. He told me that it depends on their A School with how many people would be going and how long it will take for classes to start up as well. Mine is an IT. He said as of right now there is a 50/50 chance of him coming home for the weekend, but he says don't get your hopes up. And yeah, my SR also said that he has gotten into trouble too which meant PT for the division. But he loves it, which is werid, but I'm glad. Very homesick though.

Just think ladies, only 30 days to go! And believe me, we arn't the only ones counting down too! :)  Lets hope we keep getting letters. I feel like I don't support my SR enough, he's always asking for more and more letters, its the only thing they have to look forward to. So I'm starting to write to him everyday. My dad isn't to happy with the rate the stamps are going though lol!

Go 12/312 HOOYAH! :D

Im glad to hear everyone is finally hearing from their SR's, especially John's Mom (and John's Dad)!! Nothing for me today. I expected that, but kinda saddens me knowing I probably won't be able to get anthing for another week probably. Anybody know what days for sure they get to write? I know mine writes on Fridays and Sundays, but I didn't know if they could write any other day.
My SR said they were doing drills this week, not to sure what that consists of, but I'm sure it will be alot of hard work. Many prayers going out to all of our SR's. Lets hope they all get better! Oh, and does anyone know of a meet and great for 9/16? I see alot of people talk about it on facebook, so I wasn't sure if this group had one or not.

Less than one month! Hope to see some of you there, and believe me, I will make sure 12/312 gets many loud "HOOYAHHS!" So proud of them all. But if anyone of you hears something new, don't be afraid to post! (:
Yay long replies haha. No wonder why I did so good in english my highschool years LOL

At last we got letters from our SR ...I am so glad that they are finally getting through it sounds like there are a lot of good guys in their Div .and there making friends along the way .

The RDCs sound a good crew too. There were a lot of inside jokes with his older brother as he goes next month to bootcamp too. It was heart warming as a mom to have him tell his twin sister to be carefull in college when she goes next week .,

I think we can all be very proud of our SRs and now cant wait to see their smiling faces come Sept 16.:)

I hadnt heard anything about Meet and Greet ...

Here is some info about the Meet and Greet:

The Ramada does the M&G regardless, they are not connected with the Navy, they just do it as a service and I’m sure for the extra income and PR.

It is the night before PIR from 6-8pm in the bar. It is free for everyone. Many PIR groups call and ask to move it to another room...the bar gets dark and loud after a while. Also, many PIR groups go to the Ramada then plan to meet elsewhere for dinner…Anastasias, Flannigans.

There will be many there who have never heard of N4M's.(gasp)

The Ramada will have heavy appetizers, 2 coupons for free drinks if you are a guest. You do not have to be a guest to attend. There will be a lady at the door filling out name tags. It is a lot of fun and a great way to start the weekend.

Many groups bring their own beverages (to save $$)

To sign up the "event" go to the Events tab and search for the date...then click on +add event. Tell your PIR group you have set it up then everyone can RSVP...this is just for your group to know who is going to be there...kind of a head count. You can call the Ramada tlo let them know the head count.

Some find the Ramada to have a smell, some weren’t happy with their room. I was there in Jan 2010 and it was fine. I had a blast at the M&G.
