My son left from Jackson, MS. I am on facebook Laura Armour send me a friend request. I can navigate fb a whole lot better than this site!!!!!! Not that I dont love it just know more about fb!

I don't have a fb but I get on my sons. I ll send you a request though.
Leblanc you are so lucky that he will be so close for A school!

Diana, you are right. We are lucky and thankful bc im not taking this seperation very well. I have been putting pictures of him everywhere. It helps me feel a little closer to him.

Also, just reading what you posted earlier about good to see his handwriting when you got the form letter. I stared at Josh's handwriting for the longest time. I felt like it was the first real thing I had from him since I got that fast call on the night of Sept 1st. I know its sounds silly but at least I knew he is still okay enough to write and know his address.

omg leblanc i totally felt foolish for being excited about handwriting my husband also left sept 1st and ive been so excited since knowing hes fine
If your son goes to San Diego he will love it. My husband served in Vietnam and never stops talking about San Diego. His heaven on this earth. Great weather! Needless to say in our 20 years we have visited many times. Awesome zoo and the BEST sea world in the US. All three of my boys like it there. During my time while we were in school we still had a lot of restrictions especially the first month. My school was almost 4 months long and I don't remember having much time off base till midway through. Once they are completely finished with school they will have more. When they become proficient in their level they can sign up for college. Many opportunities on every base.
It is really good to be able to talk to others whose kids are in the same ship/division!  I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks for all the great advice from everyone. Im hoping for a handwritten letter tomorrow. It took 3 days for me to get the form letter and if they wrote on sunday and mailed on monday that should mean it would be in my mailbox tomorrow!! Can you tell I miss him?! I am going to be so disappointed if there is nothing in that mailbox tomorrow!!

Annie56 its good to know we aren't the only ones getting excited over handwriting! lol

Coblysproudmom my son had a straight flight from new orleans to great lakes and don't worry I've been writing since Josh left too. I told myself I would write every night so he would receive something every day. (which im sure he will anyway bc others are writing him too)

If your son Colby left from Dallas on Sept. 1st I probably saw him at MEPS there were about 12 boys leaving that day. Has anyone gotten an actual letter from their son. I am still waiting.
My son is in Div 359, we are PIR 10/28 and he left the 6th out of Dallas.  I was just thinking how out of about 23 guys/girls (at least one that we met!) I don't think any of them are on here.  I told a couple of people about it while we were at MEPS for the last oath that day but I haven't seen any of the show up here yet.

logansproudmom, my son left from Houston on 9-1. I have not received a letter yet, REALLY hoping to get one today!
