Call Sarge 847-212-0246 for van/taxi service.  His partner, Gene, may answer also.  These guys profess to take care of the kids, they really seem to care and  were prompt.  There are others that show they are military approved, but they are using old signs.
I checked Chicago and Milwaukee and found it was quite a bit cheaper to rent a car in Milwaukee so am flying in there. I found Enterprise has cars for as cheap as $14 per day. Plus the taxes are cheaper.
Doesn't Sarge just cover the local area? Surely you're not going to take a cab from Milwaukee?

I cover - Indiana(Gary Airport) - Mitchell(Milwaukee) O'Hare and Midway

I just made arrangements with Sarge at 847-212-0246.  He is awesome!  If anyone would like to share transportation from Midway (two of us come in at 10:30 p.m. Thursday 10/13/11) he said we could share the fare!

We used Enterprise out of Milwaukee. Very reasonable and definitely was the most crowded agency at the airport. Make sure and take or rent a GPS, you're going to need it.

Beware, even though the rates seem cheap, they charge 27% tax on rentals. Not sure how this compares to Chicago airport.

Lots of construction around the airport so a bit confusing.

Just  rented my car with Enterprise at Midway airport, 4 days for $154.
Did you have a coupon? I just went online and it was slot more!
What does Sarge charge per mile? One hotel I found is 8 miles from base but only does trips within 5 and I dont want to drive and get stuck in traffic at PIR. Does anyone know?

Anymore info on the shuttle services would be greatly appreciated. Do the Hotels offer shuttle service from airports? If so costs? What about the train from the airport ?

not even sure when my son's PIR is but sometime in Feb. we are taking the train up from Kansas City and my question is anyone familiar with where the train station is in GL and if we will need a rental car and is there a rental car company in/near the train station??? any info greatly appreciated!!

If you desire a rental car I can't recommend "Advantage" highly enough!  We've used them on 2 trips to California.  Both times they've been EXCELLENT!  Lowest prices I've seen, very helpful staff, and nice clean cars.  I wouldn't use anyone else!  Check them out!  http://www.advantage.com/
