Anyone else have a loved one in Ship 9 Division 091?  My son left 01/17/2012.  He will be going to Pensacola for his A school.

Yes, Toby would be very proud. :)

I just got another letter from my son.  It's been almost a week since we had heard anything.  He wrote it Sunday.  He said their final tests and PFA are Friday (tomorrow) and that by the time I got the letter, they will have done the gas chamber.  He said their final drill inspection will be the same day as their Battle Stations next week.  But the most important thing, he wants to make sure I don't forget his phone and I-pod. lol.  Hope everyone got letters with good news today.  Come on 091, let's finish this thing off.  :)

All of Division 807 passed Battle Stations.  Here we go!  Keep the prayers going.

One day, my dear boy said to me, "A decision I have made."

The words he spoke went through my heart as if they were a spade.

"I want skills, education and money" were some of the words he said,

But all the thoughts "what if" kept spinning through my head.

I quickly regained composure and told him I'd agree

To support whatever decision he thought the best to be.

I'd love him so, no matter what, he determined he should do,

Even if it meant him leaving me to serve The Red, White and Blue.

The summer passed too quickly and we tried to cherish the time.

Soon the day came I'd been dreading, to say goodbye to that boy of mine.

We talked alone and shared last thoughts then I hugged him oh so tight.

His words still ringing "Don't cry, Mama." as tears were blurring my sight.

The weeks have dragged by slowly as I've waited impatiently,

For every single letter or call from that boy at RTC.

With each line he has written, I've come to understand,

The boy who left eight weeks ago has grown into a man.

Some angels have helped me, through these tough weeks I've endured.

They’ve kept me sane and every day my boy's state was assured.

Without them I'd be wondering "Where?" and "How?" and "When?"

These angels that I've never met, what a blessing N4M’s has been

Mere days until he graduates from this phase of his new life.

He has endured so very much in physical and mental strife.

But it's helped to form that little boy into a Navy man.

A Sailor he'll be named that March day as he stands.

He'll swear again to fight for freedom and defend us at all costs.

All the innocence of his childhood will be near completely lost.

So now to wait a few days more, until his face I'll see.

At PIR, a man will stand, but my boy he'll always be.

He'll appear out there before me and my heart will swell with pride.

And finally, I'll wait no more - no longer be denied.

At last be allowed release to go to him I came to see.

And be reunited after all this time with that boy so dear to me.

I'll run to hug him tightly and again he'll likely say:

"Don't cry, Mama." but tears of joy will be cried that happy day.

We'll spend a few hours together, then again he'll have to go.

Again my heart will break, and again the tears will flow.

I'll wish he could stay, just a little while, to share more time with me.

But duty calls and he's sworn an oath to our Land of Liberty.

So leave he will, and once again his decision I'll support.

And he'll go on to his next adventure - for A school he will report.

Yes, I'm a Navy Mom, and on the home front I'll remain.

As he spends these next years of his life in some unknown terrain.

I'll write him words of encouragement at every chance I get,

While tears of heartache, pride and fear may get the letters wet.

I'll keep him always up-to-date on family and friends

And let him know their words of thanks as their freedom he defends.

I'll praise and support each step he takes on this journey he is on,

Because that Sailor is a piece of my heart, and I'm his Navy Mom.

I stole this from someone in another group and changed some of the words to fit me.  It made me cry when I read it, but it expressed how I feel.

Captain's Cup today.  Let's hope they have learned to work together and that they have some fun before the big test.  Can't wait for the "I'm a Sailor" call!  Only 6 days to go!

They didn't win Captain's Cup, but hopefully they had a good time.  5 1/2 days till I am getting up and getting ready to see my son for the first time in almost 9 weeks.  I can't wait.  3 days from now we will be headed North.  WooHoo!

It's been a long 9 weeks but it is also over, hopefully sometime Tuesday we will all get the "Sailor" call that we are waiting for!

Had a special week this week. Received two letters and a short phone call on Thursday! I too am singing "In the Navy"!

I have really enjoyed meeting everyone and I want to thank you for sharing your information, comments and your strength.

I have no idea what Navy site I will end up on next but if you ever see me,please say Hi!

I wish all of you good luck to you and your recruits!

I will be thinking of you all too at PIR!!!

Sincerely,

Hunt
