Thanks to all of you for your prayers. My son just arrived in Ingleside, TX on Sept. 4th (only 2-1/2 hours from home), and we had to go and evacuate him and his wife on Sept. 11th. They just moved into a beautiful home on the bay (1 mile from the naval station). At least the whole family got to visit him for a weekend. They got about 2 ft. of water in the bottom story, but everybody is o.k. They evacuated the Naval Station to Lackland AFB in San Antonio. Zak had to report this morning, and found out he is leaving on Sept. 29th for Saudi Arabia.... Keep him and his wife Rachelle in your prayers......
Wow - Tabbie, so sorry to hear about your son!! Boy, that is not much notice about leaving for Saudi Arabia!! What does you son do in the Navy?
Brenda,
I haven't spkien to you since the storm...we did fine and all is well.
Steven got to call twice. Once was a 30 second call and the other was a ten minute call. he called the night before the storm and Itold him to check back with us the next day because the storm had not hit yet. He did and was able to talk about him and not about storm stuff. What a great night it was.
The last two times he called were strictly to see if we r ok. I want to know about HIM!!!!
We suffered no damage whatsoever. However, many of my family members were not so lucky.
Please pray for all in Southeast Texas, including many of my students who have lost their homes and are displaced.
Hey - I have been worried about you!! Did not want to call because figured you would have been busy!! Amazing that you got no damage. I have a friend who also lives in Orange who did not get water in her house. They already have had electricity for a couple of days. They will just do their grocery shopping in Lake Charles if they have to - what have you heard about your school. I still don't know about Vidor high School. I know one window broke in my wing - but that is all I have heard so far. I know that Orange street in front of the school had cars floating down it. Have they mentioned starting back yet. I know most websites say no school through Sept 19.
Glad your son got to call!! That is great!! You only have another week or so until PIR right? I am flying out of Hobby airport on the 26th also - if you need a ride to the airport!! I am going to the Catalina get together on here - check it out in the "events" section. I am good friends with most of the people going!
Brenda -
He is an electricians mate and will be on a mine sweeper..... Kinda scary...

Tabbie
