For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

PIR schedule
well, my nuke to be left on Wednesday for Great Lakes, and of course the only thing on my mind is PIR in about two months. For those of you who have been there, done that, if your sailor is headed out to Goose Creek for A school after boot camp, how much time is in between? From what I can tell is it's just the evening after graduation, and then he could possibly fly out the next day. Is that right? Do you get enough time together to take them out to a nice dinner in Chicago or something? Can I bring him his cell phone so he can take it to the airport with him?

Good Morning!
My son is on Ship 03 Div 40 - we got the "I'm here" phone call, the kid-in-a-box, the form letter, and one letter. Since then, nothing. It's a good thing our mail carrier comes when I'm not here - I'd drive them nuts! As it is, I check at least once a day and usually twice.
I'm still not sure what's going to happen after PIR on 12/28. He's in the Nuke Tech program, so he'll be leaving Great Lakes to go to A school. We were originally told that he would leave the afternoon of PIR, or the day after, but the conversations I've seen here on Navy Moms indicate that might not be the case since it's the holidays and there may be an issue with stand down. We live in North Carolina, so we really need to know what's going to happen after PIR. Has anyone heard anything about that?

My nuke just had PIR 11/21..we got him that afternoon and then we got him all day Thanksgiving..until about 7 pm each day..he had to be at the airport at 0600 on Friday but his flight was not until 1:40 that afternoon..we met him at the ticket counter and we got passes to the gate..then we had lunch and hung out until he left..we watched him board the pane..we were able to give him his laptop and phone with no problem..some sailors were told that family was not allowed there but that was not true..the USO was great...they told us everything..once you find out what airport they are leaving from call the USO..
