For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 389 and 390
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Try not to get too discouraged - I have gotten a letter each week the last three weeks - and my son hates to write as well - but they are all pretty short and sweet and each one says - not much time to write momma but I love you and I am fine. But we are not there and do not know what they are going through or thier state of mind as they go through it - the first letter I got - was like it was written by a stranger - he was so depressed and so down and I was sooooo worried about him, but as I read through posts here I saw that it was normal for some to have that reaction. Each letter has sounded a little better - but he reminds me to keep the letters coming and pics as it reminds him why he is doing this. Feel free to log on here and vent - it is what we are all here for after all - to remind each other that we are not on this journey alone. But do not give up on your SR - just keep right on writing like he is right there talking back to you :)

Morning Ladies! It's Thursday or as all the threads here and on FB call it "Letter Day"! I have come to realize that while some of these families are getting 12 page letters and multiples at one time...our division seems to get a couple at a time - not because they don't want to write but because they are probably following the rules and doing the things they are supposed to do! I know when my SR left, we told him to focus on what he was there to do and do it well. He's probably is doing just that! I keep sending the letters because I know that is really more important than me receiving any. We only have 22 days left until we get to see them and they get their usual forms of communication back! Not much longer until we see the people we raised finally achieve what we knew they could!!!!!! Have a great day!

Got my letter yesterday - short and sweet. said 389 passed PI and WTI and scored "Hall of Fame" scores - my SR was more excited about the entire divisions scores than his own personal ones - which were GREAT but as is supposed to be at this time - they are a unit of ONE not just a bunch of guys anymore. closed his letter with "hey mommy (he calls me that when he joking around with me) Hell week is not going to be hell at all" as this is the first letter that he sounded like MY SON my heart is more at peace today than it has been since this journey began. Have a great weekend moms. 3 more FRIDAYS!!!! The end is near :)

I finally received a letter! It was very short but packed with info (well, as much as I expect to get from a 19 yr old)! He spoke about Recruit Heaven and that they have a chance to go if they pass some test or something...he kept using acronyms that I don't know (or that I couldn't read - he has horrible handwriting)! He wrote about the teamwork, too. He said that it's still pretty stressful but not a hard as it was in the beginning. 21 days!!!!!!!!

Recruit Heaven of Ricky Heaven is an area by the "NEX". It has the phones, internet access (it costs), fast food (Taco Bell, McDonalds etc.), games, soft drinks, etc. For a recruit who doesn't have access to that "at will" it is Heaven. :)

He was excited to get 'real' food - he mentioned Taco Bell! He also said they would be able to get on Facebook there...for him that really is heaven! LOL
