Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 921

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Got my first letter from my SR yesterday (friday 2/22)! He's doing ok.. says the food is good!

Hi,  I just noticed that the zip code (last 4 digits) that was in the form letter that I received is different than the one posted on the Navy site- does anyone know which one is correct?

He sent me 7105 but the site shows 3156.  Sure hop he's getting the mail I've been sending him!

momtut- my form letter was 7105 but the letter he wrote me said 7103.  now I am REALLY confused!!  let me know what you find out.

My form letter say 60088-7105.  That's what was on the letter I got from my SR this past week and is what I have put on his letters that I have sent.

921 is making short calls!

hello to all of you out there!!  my son did not mention what he would be doing but I know he will enjoy what ever he is assigned too.  he has played the trumpet for 9 years and was in the marching band for 4.  hoping to get a call from him as I have yet to receive one.  I did get an itty bitty letter last Saturday but it did not have much info as it was written with him being at bc for only 4 days.  hoping to connect with many of you and meet at the meet and greet or PIR.  HOOYAY!!

bravegirl09 - my son played trombone for 9 years and also marched.  This 900 division though is the Ship Staff division.  They rotate the  900 division between Triple Threat (choir, band and drill team) and Sticks (those that carry the state flags) it seems.  I was looking forward to my son playing, however that isn't going to happen.  He told me in our short phone call that his PIR duty was to open the door for the RTC command and staff when they arrive.  Tomorrow will be another Friday to mark off our count!   Can't wait till 4/4/14!

Just found out my boyfriends job at PIR is a "sideboy" ..does anybody know what this job is exactly? thanks!

@Lafoto2 - I think I read somewhere that sideboys are greeters although not 100% sure tho..

lafoto - A sideboy is a SR who stands on either side of the double wooden doors at PIR and salutes the higher ranking guest as he/she enters!

they changed his job.. he's carrying a flag now! but thanks!

That's cool!  So he will be one of the honor guard.  Exciting stuff!
