Hi, my fiance and I are having a small wedding ceremony in Great Lakes, where he's currently in school, in late June. Is there a chaplain on base that will do our ceremony? And would he do it for free, and with an appointment only? Also, after we have our marriage license and its official, how do we go about applying for the housing allowance (for us to hopefully live together in military housing after he graduates A school), DEERS, and also to get me my military ID? Trying to figure everything out from all the way in Mississippi is kind of difficult. Thanks y'all!

He should contact the chaplain and ask. He may have to see him or her anyway, as part of the pre-marital as counseling he has to do when he submits his request chit to marry. I found the contact information:
Thank you so much! But no ma'am, He hasn't received orders yet, and won't be graduating school till July 27th. Will getting enrolled and in all the stuff and getting my ID card take more than a day to do, especially my ID? I will only be in Great Lakes for another 2 days after we get married, and one of those days is a Sunday. And since he's taking night classes and doesn't have classes till 3 in the afternoon, would he have to take the time off? Or could he just handle all that before class on the weekdays?
It doesn't take long to do the paper work, so one morning should be sufficient. Just a few hours in most cases. Get extra copies of the marriage certificate, everyone will want to see/have one.
I don't know how Great Lakes is laid out anymore, but every other base has everything in one office at PSD/PSA (Personnel offices).
